Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Manage PM E-Mobility Drive, Whole Vehicle Safety Conformity of Production (WVSCOP), and Emission CoP testing activities from planning through execution, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and timely achievement of certification milestones.
  • Drive implementation and alignment of new government regulations and CMVR requirements across the manufacturing plant.
  • Coordinate with certification and testing agencies such as ARAI, iCAT, and VRDE for current and future CoP certification requirements.
  • Plan and conduct vehicle regulatory tests and audits related to vehicle weight, drag force, E-Marking, Form 22 compliance, and other statutory requirements.
  • Lead internal CoP audits, monitor compliance effectiveness, and drive corrective actions where necessary.
  • Prepare and maintain CoP dashboards, certification reports, data repositories, and analytical insights to support regulatory and business requirements.
  • Manage traction battery CoP activities from planning to certification in coordination with government-approved testing agencies.
  • Conduct process audits on assembly lines to ensure compliance with CoP standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with certification teams to interpret applicable regulations and ensure effective implementation across products and processes.
  • Work closely with design and engineering teams to develop control plans, inspection check sheets, and compliance frameworks.
  • Maintain and monitor Type Approval Certificates (TACs) and CoP certificates, ensuring timely renewals and validity management.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to obtain and track TACs and CoP certifications ahead of expiry dates.
  • Develop forecasts and plans for budget, manpower, vehicles, systems, and components required for CoP certification activities.
  • Establish strong working relationships with type approval agencies and proactively plan certification activities to support business timelines.
  • Support regulatory compliance initiatives related to electric vehicles and emerging industry standards.

Experience

3 to 8 years of experience in CoP certification, vehicle homologation, or automotive regulatory compliance.

Industry Preferred

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Automobile Engineering.

General Requirements

Desired Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of AIS standards, CMVR regulations, vehicle type approval processes, and the Motor Vehicles Act.
  • Good understanding of electric vehicle regulations and certification requirements.
  • Experience in planning and executing internal CoP audits and certification activities with regulatory agencies.
  • Ability to manage system-level testing activities and coordinate with external test agencies.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Sound knowledge of electric vehicle systems, including batteries, controllers, braking systems, steering systems, and vehicle electronics.
  • Understanding of E&E vehicle architecture and functionality across two-wheelers, three-wheelers, and four-wheelers.
  • Knowledge of motors, controllers, battery technologies, CAN communication, battery management systems (BMS), LVDC systems, chargers, and related electrical commodities.
  • Hands-on exposure to low-voltage and high-voltage vehicle systems.
  • Experience in troubleshooting and debugging electrical and electronic system issues.
  • Understanding of E&E manufacturing processes, including PCB manufacturing, soldering, SMT, ICs, MOSFETs, and wiring harness manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in using electrical and electronic diagnostic tools such as multimeters, clamp meters, and oscilloscopes.
