Responsibilities & Key Deliverables
Key Tasks and Deliverables
- Lead end-to-end design and development of Embedded Systems for Electric Vehicle (EV) Electronic Control Units (ECUs), including Vehicle Control Unit (VCU), Battery Management System (BMS), Intelligent Energy Management System (IEMS), and Charge Control System.
- Drive modular and scalable architecture for hardware and software platforms using Model-Based Software Development (MBSD).
- Develop and maintain Embedded Systems Roadmap aligned with future EV technology trends and organizational strategy.
- Establish and enforce robust development processes for hardware and software, ensuring compliance with global standards (e.g., ISO 26262).
- Evaluate and onboard suppliers through technical assessments and global benchmarking forums.
- Guide and mentor a team of 60+ engineers to ensure timely delivery of platform and program milestones (S110, S210, E100, ME08, C110).
- Promote innovation through IP generation, patent filings, and internal workshops.
Critical Must-Have Deliverables
- Successful delivery of three horizontal platform projects and support for five vertical programs within defined timelines, cost, and quality metrics.
- Establishment of Mahindra Electric Engineering Standards for Embedded System products.
- Creation of Embedded Systems Handbook including design guidelines, procedures, and process documentation.
- Compliance with ISO 26262 Functional Safety across all hardware and software deliverables.
- Monthly reporting to CXOs and Executive Committees on program status, departmental KPIs, and quality metrics.
Good-to-Have Deliverables
- Participation in industry forums and technology scouting for emerging EV trends.
- Contribution to ADAS, Autonomous Driving, and IoT integration within EV platforms.
- Cross-functional collaboration to enhance system-level performance and interoperability.
- Market trend analysis and adaptation of global best practices in embedded systems.
Experience
- 25 to 30 years of experience in Embedded Systems development, preferably in the automotive or EV domain.
- Proven track record of leading large engineering teams and delivering complex embedded products.
- Hands-on experience in hardware-software co-design, safety compliance, and process adherence.

Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or Embedded Systems
- Certifications in Functional Safety (ISO 26262), Automotive SPICE, or equivalent preferred
- Training in Model-Based Design, FMEA, FTA, and Quality Control tools
