Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

  • Lead testing & validation of LV Electrical Systems & Software team
  • Testing & Validation of Electrical Wiring Harness, Switches, Sensors, Lighting systems & Electromechanical components at System & Vehicle Level
  • Quick Development of E&E Durability Test Bench setup for LV Electrical system validation.
  • Study the requirements & generate test cases to perform the LV Electrical system validation either at Inhouse facility or at external agencies.
  • Develop & maintain Master DVP in the work areas with clear Test Standards, Test procedures & acceptance criteria
  • Review supplier test reports, identify the critical test cases required for execution.
  • Testing & Validation of ECU Hardware & Software - BMS/VCU, Telematics, Instrument Cluster
  • Validation of Diagnostics tool, End of Line (EOL) tool & Mobile Apps from End user perspective.
  • Responsible for Vehicle Integration HIL – Develop Modular HIL architecture, wiring harness, plant model across platforms.
  • Responsible for Development & maintenance of eKit Lab-cars for all platforms
  • Responsible for developing test cases, test scripts & Execution on Electric Vehicle Software Functions, Diagnostics, IVN Network management etc.
  • Publish Dashboards on efficient utilization & automation of the test facilities & labs, maintaining Quality KPIs.
  • Quickly reproducing the failures in HIL/Labcar environment & subject to multiple test runs.
  • Issue identification, reporting & First Level Issue Analysis from CAN Log using tools like Vector CANoe etc.
  • Working with Cross Functional Teams – Wiring Harness, LV System team, System Integration Team, Embedded Systems, Telematics Design & eKit on Vehicle Validation & Program management team – Issue tracking, RCA, ICA, PCA & closure.
  • Test Data Management – Software Validation ensuring traceability, requirement coverage at System level
  • Training & Skill development of team members based on Project & team needs to ensure First Time Right execution
  • Instrumentation Lab – Maintenance, Calibration & equipment procurement

 

Experience

Experience

  • Extensive experience in vehicle validation engineering with a minimum of 8-10 years in the automotive industry, particularly in powertrain and electrical systems testing.
  • Proven expertise in managing Design Verification Plans (DVP) and conducting integration and durability testing for vehicles with internal combustion engines, compressed natural gas (CNG), and diesel configurations.
  • Hands-on experience analysing complex vehicle data sets for diagnostic purposes, with a strong understanding of vehicle automation in testing environments.
  • Demonstrated capability leading cross-functional teams in a product development environment, showcasing excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Experience collaborating with Centres of Excellence (COEs) and specialised technical teams to align test strategies and resolve technical issues effectively.
  • Strong background in defining and tracking key performance metrics related to vehicle validation and test case execution efficiency.
  • Experience in adopting innovative testing technologies and methodologies that improve validation accuracy and speed.
  • Familiarity with automotive industry standards for testing, quality assurance, and safety compliance.

  • Automotive and mobility solutions industry with a focus on electric vehicles, hybrid powertrains, and advanced propulsion systems.
  • Advanced vehicle manufacturing sectors specialising in vehicle system integration and powertrain validation.
  • Tata Motors, TVS, Bajaj, Ashok Leyland, Switch Mobility, Ola, Olectra, Ather & EV startups etc.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's or master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline from a recognised institution.
  • Advanced professional certifications in automotive testing, quality assurance, vehicle dynamics, or systems engineering are highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical skills supported by proficiency in testing tools, data analysis software, and simulation platforms related to vehicle validation.
  • Leadership training or management development courses that demonstrate capability in leading multidisciplinary teams and managing complex projects should be considered advantageous.
  • Understanding of industry regulations, emission norms, and safety standards applicable to vehicle testing and validation.
