Responsibilities & Key Deliverables
Expertise in architecting & designing Control systems for Electric Vehicles Powertrain
A) Create and Execute the overall Control Architecture for Electric Vehicles
1) Identify the trends in Electric Vehicle architecture and design the Control functions to meet the vehicle platform requirements including scalability, flexibility, security, cost, quality and timelines.
2) Lead the development of electrical powertrain architecture design for electric vehicle.
3) Drive function architecture design discussions with cross-functional teams including embedded, software,hardware, mechanical and thremal design teams.
4) Understand the Vehicle Platform requirements and prepare the function map/ Swimlane Diagrams.
5) Define and optimize the control architecture to interface with various ePT related systems including propulsion, battery, charging, etc
6) Distill the controls architecture and design discussions into design documents, control descirption documents, function requirements and performance requirements
7) Work closely with Software and Hardware architects to align the L1 requirements into implementable requirements.
8) Lead any new technology discussions and adopt the same into control archtiecture.
10) Be the focal point for any change requirements and assess the impact on the vehicle architecture/design/performance/etc
11) Has potential for indepth teachnical discussions on "Entry, Exit" Criteria's of System Functions and can relate with its relation at both System , Module level
12) Has in-depth understanding of System degradation strategies, relevant arbitration & priority selection strategies as applicable to EV domain.
13) Planning of soft-tools and resources to meet the deliveries.
14) Preparation and presentation of technical papers.
15) Creating good working atmosphere in the team.
16) Comfortable in leading change and customer oriented.
Functional Competencies / Skills critical for the job
1) Bachelors/Masters in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering
2) Overall 8+ years of experience in systems design, systems architecture, systems integration, embedded development or related field.
3) Hands-on technical experience in creating complex subsystems involving intelligent microprocessors and software-controlled control systems
4) Understand fundamentals in electric vehicle drive components and energy storage system, BMS and functional safety as well as E-Motors, Inverters, DC fast charging
5) Experience in CAN, Flex-ray, Ethernet, LIN, ECU development, Electrical Schematic, diagnosis service tools
6) Strong fundamentals in embedded systems
7) Experience with AUTOSAR, ISO 26262 and other relevant standards in automotive industry
8) Thorough understanding of vehicle development and software/hardware engineering processes (incl A-SPICE/V-Cycle)
9) Proficient in using design and development tools for modeling systems and functions such as MATLAB, IBM Rhapsody, Enterprise Architect or similar
10) Strong written and verbal communication skills
