Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

Key Tasks and Deliverables

  • Lead and guide the team in decomposing complex ADAS features (e.g., Lane Keep Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control) into sensors, controllers, and actuators.
  • Plan, implement, and moderate domain-specific Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) autonomously.
  • Analyze interactions between Electronic Braking Systems (EBS), powertrain (including regenerative braking), and Engine ECU to ensure comprehensive failure coverage.
  • Adapt standardized FMEA methodologies to customer-specific projects and implement the 7-step approach in FMEA moderation.
  • Standardize severity ratings across modules and ensure alignment with ISO 26262 safety standards.
  • Mediate technical debates and ensure consensus based on empirical data.
  • Prepare periodic executive reports on FMEA progress, open high-priority risks, and mitigation closure rates.
  • Verify that all safety goals identified in Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment (HARA) are addressed in FMEA.

Critical Must-Have Deliverables

  • Successful implementation of system-level FMEA for EBS, ESC, and ADAS systems.
  • Compliance with ISO 26262 safety standards.
  • Comprehensive coverage of safety goals in FMEA documentation.
  • Timely reporting of risk mitigation progress and closure rates to leadership.

Good-to-Have Deliverables

  • Development of standardized templates and severity rating frameworks for future projects.
  • Contribution to cross-functional safety workshops and knowledge-sharing sessions.
  • Continuous improvement initiatives for FMEA processes and tools.

Experience

9-13 years

Industry Preferred

  • Automotive (Passenger Vehicles, Commercial Vehicles, EV & ICE platforms).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication, Applied Electronics, Mechanical, or Automobile Engineering.

General Requirements

Functional Competencies
  • Systems Engineering and Integration of Pneumatic and Hydraulic Braking Systems.
  • Expertise in ADAS features such as Lane Departure Warning and Autonomous Emergency Braking.
  • Vehicle dynamics and homologation requirements.
Tools and Techniques Used
  • FMEA (7-step approach), ISO 26262 compliance frameworks.
  • Application engineering tools for system packaging, static tests, and functional verification.
