Responsibilities & Key Deliverables
As the Lead for Vehicle Benchmarking at Mahindra Last Mile Mobility Limited, you will spearhead comprehensive vehicle teardown and analysis projects, aiming to gain in-depth insights into component functionality, design intricacies, and system integration across various vehicle platforms.
- Take ownership of detailed reverse engineering initiatives to understand competitor vehicle architectures and technologies, identifying key design elements and material usage that influence performance and cost.
- Drive extensive benchmarking studies that critically evaluate our vehicle offerings against competitors, focusing on performance metrics, technological advancements, durability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Lead data generation efforts for multiple vehicle aggregates including but not limited to powertrains, chassis systems, electrical architectures, and control modules, ensuring accuracy and detail to support decision-making processes.
- Oversee the continuous updating and maintenance of benchmarking databases with fresh, validated data to ensure informed strategic planning within the product development cycle.
- Effectively synthesize complex benchmarking data into clear, insightful reports and presentations which drive cross-team understanding and alignment.
- Collaborate extensively with cross-functional teams including engineering, design, and product management to incorporate benchmarking insights into the company's overall product development strategies, fostering innovation and competitive differentiation.
- Support leadership in strategic planning by providing actionable intelligence on industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor movements.
- Champion best practices in benchmarking methodologies and promote knowledge sharing within the organisation to elevate overall product quality and market responsiveness.

Experience
The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in automotive benchmarking and vehicle teardown analysis, demonstrating a solid understanding of vehicle systems and industry trends.
- At least 7-10 years of relevant experience in automotive product development, benchmarking, or reverse engineering within the vehicle manufacturing sector.
- Proven track record of leading complex benchmarking projects and vehicle teardown exercises, including familiarity with powertrain, chassis, electrical, and electronic systems.
- Experience working directly with cross-functional teams such as design, engineering, and supply chain to ensure benchmarking insights translate into tangible product improvements.
- Strong knowledge of materials technology, component design principles, and integration techniques used in modern vehicles.
- Hands-on expertise with tools and methodologies for data collection, analysis, and presentation, including proficiency in databases and reporting software.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret technical data and communicate complex concepts effectively to diverse stakeholders including senior management.
- Experience with automotive industry standards, regulatory requirements, and quality benchmarks.
- Preferred background includes involvement with electric vehicle technologies and innovative mobility solutions.
