Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

  1. Design and develop comprehensive suspension and steering and powertrain mount systems, focusing on vehicle dynamics, particularly for electric vehicles, with testing expertise considered advantageous.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of suspension systems, steering systems, and powertrain mounts into the overall vehicle design.
  3. Calculate and evaluate suspension, steering, vehicle dynamics, and engine mount designs.
  4. Conduct thorough evaluations of individual suspension components and assemblies to optimize performance for both on-road and off-road driving conditions.
  5. Conduct engineering analyses and simulations to assess suspension system performance across various operating conditions and loads.
  6. Analyze test results to redesign and optimize chassis systems for peak performance.
  7. Develop prototypes, conduct testing, and validate suspension components and systems using both virtual and physical methods.
  8. Optimize vehicle performance by fine-tuning vehicle parameters through mathematical modelling of quarter car/half-car/full car models using MATLAB, Simulink, and Simscape
  9. Identify and resolve technical issues related to suspension, steering, and powertrain mount design, performance, and manufacturing.
  10. Facilitate engineering design reviews, CAE reviews, project meetings, and cross-functional discussions to ensure alignment with project objectives and timelines.
  11. Generate technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and engineering reports

B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering

General Requirements

  1. Knowledge of Vehicle Dynamics, Suspension system design, steering system design, and powertrain mount design.
  2. Proficiency in CAD software for 3D modelling and design, particularly CATIA.
  3. Familiarity with automotive testing standards and procedures.
  4. Experience in DVP testing and hands on experience in ride & handling evaluation.
  5. Proficiency in DFM, DFA, DFS.
  6. Knowledge of layout preparation, including suspension and steering system, articulation, and wheel envelope.
  7. Strong knowledge of material selection for sheet metal, forging and casting parts.
  8. Proficiency in software tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, Simscape, and ADAMS.
  9. Experience with TSO, VOB for chassis components.
