Responsibilities & Key Deliverables
Key Tasks and Deliverables:
- Develop and validate vehicle subsystem models in simulation environments aligned with real system data.
- Design and implement features to enhance drivability, range, performance, and perceived quality of electric vehicles.
- Develop and calibrate vehicle performance algorithms for Vehicle Control Units (VCU) and Battery Management Systems (BMS).
- Collaborate cross-functionally with teams including Battery, Motor, Vehicle Dynamics, Software Development, and System Engineering to develop high-fidelity algorithms and ensure requirement and model traceability.
- Perform range analysis and identify improvement areas through simulation and data analytics.
- Conduct 1D and 2D performance and range simulations.
- Calibrate electric vehicle control system functions focusing on performance, driving range, torque path, driveability, thermal and energy management.
- Execute simulation and calibration of pedal map, creep control, adaptive cruise control, tip-in/tip-out, acceleration, ABS/ESP intervention, speed limitation, and torque limits under various test conditions.
- Simulate and calibrate Battery Management System (BMS) functions.
- Coordinate with architecture, software development, and validation teams to meet simulation and calibration objectives.
- Implement diagnostics protocols and oversee their deployment through production.
- Generate and translate requirements between models and system specifications.
Critical Must-Have Deliverables:
- Accurate development and validation of vehicle subsystem models with real system correlation.
- Successful calibration of electric vehicle control system functions ensuring optimized performance and driving range.
- Effective cross-team collaboration to deliver high-fidelity algorithms and maintain traceability.
- Completion of vehicle-level simulations and calibration related to torque path, driveability, and energy management.
- Delivery of simulation and calibration for BMS functions.
- Implementation of diagnostics protocols through to production readiness.
Good-to-Have Deliverables:
- Contributions to advanced optimization methods for vehicle performance and range.
- Development of innovative features enhancing perceived vehicle quality.
- Support in generating analytical reports from simulation and calibration data.
- Participation in continuous improvement initiatives for simulation tools and methodologies.
Experience
- 3 to 5 Years of experience
- Proven experience with vehicle subsystem modeling, simulation, and calibration in electric vehicle domains.
- Exposure to cross-functional collaboration with embedded software, battery management, and vehicle dynamics teams.
- Familiarity with automotive standards related to vehicle performance and certification.
Industry Preferred
Automotive OEM R&D or Tier 1 system design houses specializing in electric vehicle calibration and control systems.

Competencies and Skills: Functional Competencies:
- Expertise in vehicle subsystem modeling and simulation for electric vehicles.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle control algorithms, BMS functions, and electric vehicle performance parameters.
- Ability to perform range analysis and calibrate control system functions. Tools and Techniques Used:
- Proficiency in 1D and 2D simulation tools and analytics platforms (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink, AVL, or equivalent).
- Experience with calibration tools and diagnostic protocol implementation. Behavioral Competencies:
