Responsibilities & Key Deliverables
As a Field Trainee within our Farm Division sales team, you will be entrusted with the critical responsibility of managing a portfolio of dealerships to meet and exceed business targets including sales volumes, market share, customer collections, product deliveries, and spare part sales. This role demands proactive management to establish and maintain a viable distribution network by appointing and supporting dealers and sub-dealers to ensure comprehensive market coverage. You will play a vital role in ensuring dealerships are staffed with trained personnel and will actively facilitate training programmes and coaching initiatives to empower dealer staff with knowledge of sales systems like MSS and Panchatantra. Your role will include oversight of service infrastructure at dealer locations to implement service systems aimed at elevating customer satisfaction levels. Organising and executing local sales promotional events, product launches, and dealer sales training sessions on product features and modifications will also be within your remit. Monitoring competitor activities, gathering market intelligence, and providing feedback on both competitor and company product performance will feed into strategic decision making. You will also be responsible for designing targeted incentive programs for dealer motivation and liaising with financial institutions and banks to explore and establish innovative retail financing solutions for customers. Your work will be pivotal in aligning dealership performance with company goals and in driving sustainable business growth.
Experience
The ideal candidate will possess an engineering degree with a minimum of 4 to 7 years' progressive experience in dealership management, sales, or a related field within the agricultural or automotive sectors. Alternatively, a diploma holder with 7 to 9 years' experience demonstrating a solid track record in managing sales operations, customer relations, and dealer networks is also suitable. Experience in implementing sales and service management systems, conducting training sessions for dealer personnel, executing promotional campaigns, and managing financial liaison for retail financing products is highly beneficial. Proven capability in analysing competitive market conditions and customer feedback, developing incentive schemes, and fostering productive partnerships with dealers and financial institutions will set candidates apart. Applicants with hands-on experience in customer-centric roles, who have demonstrated excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills, will thrive in this position.
Industry Preferred
Experience within the agricultural machinery sector, automotive sales, or related heavy equipment industries is highly desirable. Candidates who have worked in environments where managing a network of dealerships and sub-dealers was essential will find this role aligns well with their expertise. Familiarity with sales promotion techniques, product launches, and retail financing in sectors such as farming equipment, automotive, or industrial machinery will be advantageous. Additionally, experience with implementing sales management software and customer service improvement initiatives in these industries will enhance effectiveness in this role.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field is required; alternatively, a recognized diploma with extensive relevant experience is acceptable.
- Demonstrated experience in sales management, dealership development, and retail financing within the agricultural or automotive sectors.
- Strong knowledge of sales and service management systems such as MSS and Panchatantra.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively train and coach dealer teams and liaise with multiple stakeholders.
- Proven ability to design and implement marketing and incentive schemes that drive business results.
- Ability to analyse market trends, monitor competition, and provide actionable business insights.
- Proficiency in coordinating with financial institutions to develop retail finance solutions.
