Responsibilities & Key Deliverables
1. Key Tasks and Deliverables
- Design, develop, and validate next‑generation High Voltage (HV) battery systems and BMS algorithms for BEV and HEV platforms
- Develop and optimize BMS functions including SOC, SOH, SOP estimation, thermal management, diagnostics, and safety logic
- Create and maintain battery digital twin models for performance prediction and lifecycle analysis
- Perform battery and vehicle system modeling, simulation, calibration, and validation
- Support HEV energy management and control strategy development
- Analyze field data, logs, and failures to improve robustness and reliability
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams from concept development through SOP
2. Critical Must-Have Deliverables
- Production‑ready BMS algorithms (SOC, SOH, SOP, balancing, safety)
- Validated battery system models aligned with vehicle integration needs
- Accurate SOX estimation using model‑based techniques
- Compliance with HV safety and automotive regulatory requirements
- Field issue root‑cause analysis and corrective action implementation
3. Good-to-Have Deliverables
- AI/ML‑based SOX estimation and battery prognostics models
- Thermal runaway prediction models and abuse test correlation
- Advanced diagnostics and predictive maintenance features
- Contribution to safety audits and certification activities
Experience
- 4–6 years of hands‑on experience in EV/HEV battery systems or BMS development
- Strong experience in lithium‑ion HV battery pack architecture
- Practical exposure to complete automotive development lifecycle (V‑model)
- Experience supporting vehicle integration, validation, and SOP readiness
Industry Preferred
- Electric Vehicles (BEV, HEV, PHEV)
- Automotive OEMs and Tier‑1 suppliers
- Battery systems, energy storage, and electrified powertrain solutions
Qualifications
- B.Tech / B.E. in Electrical & Electronics Engineering or equivalent
- Postgraduate specialization in power electronics, energy systems, or controls is an advantage
- HV battery safety certification is preferred
General Requirements
Functional Competencies
- HV battery system design and integration
- BMS algorithm development (EKF‑based SOC, SOH, SOP)
- Battery modeling, simulation, calibration, and validation
- HEV control strategy understanding
Tools & Techniques
- MATLAB, Simulink, Simscape, Stateflow (Model‑Based Development)
- CAN tools: CANoe, CAN Analyzer, PCAN, INCA
- Python for data analytics, field log analysis, and failure investigation
- Experience with HIL/SIL/MIL validation environments is an added advantage
Behavioral Competencies
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills

- Ability to mentor junior engineers and technically lead work packages
