Responsibilities & Key Deliverables
Key Tasks and Deliverables:
- Deliver and assess safety work products from item definition to safety case completion for Electric and Hybrid Automotive systems.
- Negotiate supplier responsibilities through Development Interface Agreements (DIA).
- Provide group and individual training on Functional Safety principles.
- Perform Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment (HARA) and define safety requirements at system, hardware, and software levels.
- Interpret hardware and software design documents; conduct verification analyses including eFMEA, reliability calculations, FTA, FMEA, and FFI.
- Actively participate in product design reviews to ensure early and continuous integration of functional safety.
- Evaluate new functional safety concepts and methods; assess supplier compliance per ISO 26262.
- Support vehicle-level integration and validation of safety goals with internal customers.
- Harmonize organization-specific rules and processes to comply with ISO 26262.
- Ensure organizational readiness with sufficient skills, competencies, and qualifications aligned to ISO 26262.
- Conduct assessments and audits for Functional Safety work products.
Critical Must-Have Deliverables:
- Successful delivery of safety work products compliant with ISO 26262 standards.
- Completion of HARA and definition of safety requirements across system, hardware, and software.
- Verification and validation of safety requirements through documented analyses (eFMEA, FTA, FFI).
- Supplier safety compliance assessment and management.
- Functional Safety certification (ISO 26262:2018) maintained and applied.
- Effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to validate safety requirements.
Good-to-Have Deliverables:
- Development and delivery of Functional Safety training programs.
- Contributions to journal publications or patents related to Functional Safety or FuSa domain.
- Experience with ASPICE and Cybersecurity standards and certifications.
- Hands-on experience with Motor Control Units (MCU), On-Board Chargers (OBC), and Vehicle Control Units (VCU).
- Participation in cross-functional teams to enhance safety processes and tools.
Experience
Critical Experience Required:
- Minimum 2-4 years of experience in Functional Safety for Electric and Hybrid Automotive domains.
- Proven experience with automotive OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers.
- Strong knowledge of electric powertrains in passenger, commercial, and hybrid vehicles aligned with ISO 26262.
- Experience in development and assessment of safety for DC-DC, ADC, PD, and On-Board Chargers (OCDC-OBC).
- Demonstrated experience performing Part3, Part4, Part5, and Part6 activities of ISO 26262.

- Ability to interpret and analyze hardware/software design documents.
- Knowledge of electric vehicle powertrain systems and safety integration. Tools and Techniques Used:
- Advanced skills in eFMEA, FTA, FFI, reliability calculations.
- Familiarity with Functional Safety management tools and verification methodologies.
