Assistant Manager - Warranty Administrator

Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

Warranty Claims Management:

  • Process and manage warranty claims from submission to resolution.
  • Verify the validity of warranty claims and ensure all required documentation is complete.
  • Issue remittance and credit notes to distributors for approved claims.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

  • Monitor warranty trends and retrofitting activities, providing monthly updates to management.
  • Prepare and present quarterly reports on warranty cost per vehicle and R/1000.
  • Generate data and inputs for the Warranty Budget Provision.

Customer and Distributor Support:

  • Provide systems support to distributors on warranty issues.
  • Coordinate with the IT team to resolve distributor queries and enhance the warranty system.
  • Supply warranty parts on Free of Cost (FOC) basis to distributors as required.

Warranty Policy Development:

  • Assist in the creation of extended warranty schemes and service plans for various markets.
  • Manage warranty expenses versus provisions, ensuring accurate forecasting and budgeting.

Audit and Compliance:

  • Facilitate the deployment of the Warranty Audit Process.
  • Ensure all warranty claims comply with company policies and manufacturer guidelines.

Vendor Coordination:

  • Ensure vendor recovery in coordination with the domestic warranty cell.
  • Provide claim data for critical and emerging concerns to the technical cell.

Education Qualification

Bachelor of Engineering; Bachelor of Engineering in Automobile; Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical

General Experience

3-5 years, Proven experience in warranty administration or a similar role, preferably in the automotive industry

Critical Experience

 

  • Proven experience in warranty administration or a similar role, preferably in the automotive industry.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in warranty management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with warranty claims software.
  • Knowledge of automotive parts and systems.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Additional Information:

  • This role may require occasional travel to visit distributors and conduct audits.
  • The Warranty Administrator should be prepared to handle confidential information with discretion.
