Responsibilities & Key Deliverables
The Assistant Manager/Deputy Manager - MQA Paintshop at Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd will play a crucial role in ensuring and sustaining paint quality through proactive measures to control processes and prevent any form of quality failure. Key responsibilities include:
- Actively coordinating with paint material suppliers to address quality issues and implement quality upgrades.
- Ensuring that product quality parameters and goals are consistently achieved as per the outlined plans.
- Conducting thorough reviews and analyses of daily quality data, encompassing rework and rejection rates, as well as internal and external customer complaints. Formulating actionable plans to address identified issues.
- Planning and executing paint quality initiatives for new model launches, colour introductions, and new projects within the paint shop.
- Engaging in field complaint analysis and developing strategic action plans to resolve paint shop-related complaints.
- Interacting with various departments including body shop, TCF shops, and PVT to ensure effective coordination on paint shop quality matters.
- Facilitating quality-oriented internal and external audits, reinforcing the importance of compliance and continuous improvement.
- Enhancing team morale through continuous feedback on outgoing quality metrics, highlighting the direct impact on overall product quality and brand reputation.
Education Qualification
Candidates for this role should possess a B.Tech degree specifically in Surface Coating Technology or Paint Technology. This educational foundation is pivotal as it provides the necessary technical knowledge and understanding of the principles of coating and paint application.
Further qualifications may include certifications related to quality management systems, painting technologies, or related fields, which will enhance your ability to contribute effectively to our innovative projects.
General Experience
General experience in paint shop process control and troubleshooting is essential for this position. Specific areas of expertise should include:
- Deep understanding of paint and sealer ROBOT applications and their operational process control.
- Familiarity with advanced technologies employed in paint manufacturing and application, as well as knowledge of paint shop equipment.
- Experience in PFMEA (Process Failure Mode and Effect Analysis), Control Plans, QMS (Quality Management Systems), SPC (Statistical Process Control), and TPM (Total Productive Maintenance), among others.
- Strong analytical skills complemented by hands-on experience in employing problem-solving analytical tools such as Design of Experiments (DOE), 8D methodologies, MYB (Make Your Best), MGB, and QM analysis.
- Exceptional managerial skills that facilitate informed decision-making rooted in situational analysis.
- Proficiency in MS Office tools, which aids in data analysis and report generation, enhancing overall work efficiency.
- A comprehensive understanding of the Paint Shop processes and equipment, alongside effective stakeholder management capabilities.
