Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

Monitor, analyse data, and drive improvements for Key Performance Indicators (KPI) such as R/1000, CPU, and Aggregate Replacement related to Transmission Motors and Battery Packs. This role demands a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to problem solving.
Address field and internal issues as a top priority by deploying appropriate initiatives, setting clear goals, and ensuring customer protection through timely resolution and guidance in field concern resolution.
Maintain a working knowledge of diagnostic tools for in-depth analysis of Battery Pack performance, Motor Transmission, and overall Vehicle functionality to ensure optimal operation and customer satisfaction.
Coordinate with various internal functions including SQE, MQQA, Manufacturing, MRV, and Customer Care to ensure speedy resolution and timely closure of concerns. This role will require excellent communication skills across departments.
Conduct visits to vehicle plants and field sites to better understand product issues and customer expectations, actively planning necessary improvements with the support of all stakeholders involved.
Engage in joint investigations at dealerships or supplier locations to analyse field failures, ensuring that all findings are documented and communicated effectively.
Study the design of components and prepare proposals aimed at enhancing design robustness to prevent field failures, thereby contributing to the overall quality assurance of the products.
Prepare Management Information System (MIS) reports, dashboards, and presentations that detail cost impacts and necessary field interventions—a key task for senior management reviews.
Utilise SAP for warranty claims administration, meticulously keeping records of warranty return parts, releasing reports on warranty recovery, and ensuring confidentiality of sensitive information.
Provide functional guidance to team members, focusing on enhancing quality and functional excellence, while ensuring that a structured problem-solving approach is followed to boost effectiveness and efficiency.

Experience

Candidate should possess between 5 to 10 years of experience in the battery pack field, with a background in vehicles being a distinct advantage. This experience should demonstrate the ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Effective stakeholder engagement and strong communication skills will be essential for success in this position.

Industry Preferred

Experience in the Automotive industry, particularly in Battery Manufacturing and Quality Assurance, is highly preferred. Candidates with a robust understanding of battery technologies and their applications in vehicles will find this role particularly suited to their background. Familiarity with quality systems and manufacturing processes related to automotive components will enhance the candidate’s profile.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will hold a degree in Engineering, specialising in Mechanical, Automobile, or Electrical disciplines. A strong academic background coupled with relevant work experience will provide a solid foundation for success in this role.

General Requirements

The candidate must have a thorough understanding of battery manufacturing and quality assurance processes, showcasing familiarity with various quality systems employed in the industry. Strong decision-making skills and a high level of analytical ability are crucial for resolving complex issues. Experience in troubleshooting and diagnosing E Motors and transmissions will be extremely beneficial. A proactive approach to problem-solving and hands-on experience addressing field issues will set candidates apart.
