Role Summary
The Deputy Manager/Manager - Hydraulics Commodity is responsible for the development and management of parts for new projects, product improvements, cost reduction initiatives, field complaints resolution, alternative sourcing, and capacity enhancement. This role specifically focuses on hydraulics components such as pipes, hoses, high-pressure pipes, sheet metal brackets, and machined parts. The incumbent will ensure delivery accuracy and quality through adherence to Mahindra’s part development process, with an emphasis on "First Time Right" and "Every Time Right" principles.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the development of hydraulic parts e.g. Sheet Metal components, Hoses, Machined components ensuring alignment with Mahindra's Development system and timeline standards.
- Lead product improvement initiatives, cost reduction projects, and alternate sourcing activities.
- Address field complaints and implement capacity enhancement solutions for hydraulics components.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution and timely delivery.
Qualifications & Experience
Education : B.E. in Mechanical Engineering.
Experience : 5-8 years in the tractor or automotive industry.
Preferred Industry Background : Experience with tractor or automotive OEMs or Tier 1 suppliers.

- Manufacturing & Quality : Knowledge of STA functions for feasibility assessments, process controls, FTG finalization, production trials, VPPAP, and project monitoring.
- Cost Estimation : Proficiency in cost drivers, cost estimation for parts and tooling, and manufacturing processes.
- Project Management : Competence in project planning, time management, and execution.
- Technical Tools : Proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Power BI).
Quality Systems : Understanding of APQP, VPPAP, and other relevant quality systems.
