Role Summary

The Asst/Dy Manager- Engine Proprietary Commodity is responsible for the development and management of parts for new projects, product improvements, cost reduction initiatives, field complaints resolution, alternative sourcing, and capacity enhancement. This role specifically focuses on Engine Proprietary components such Radiator Assly, Air Cleaner, Fuel Cooler System, Oil Cooler System & Exhaust System etc. The incumbent will ensure delivery accuracy and quality through adherence to Mahindra’s part development process, with an emphasis on "First Time Right" and "Every Time Right" principles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manufacturing feasibility for new release part w.r.t. SOR/SOW, new release drawing & finalizing / establishing the Engine Prop.Air Cooling, Fuel Cooler and Exhaust System components to get the required results.
  • Get the quotation from suppliers after finalizing the process.
  • Develop the component and get the process certified through PPAP from SQA.
  • Oversee and manage the development of Engine Prop.Air Cooling, Fuel Cooler and Exhaust System components ensuring alignment with Mahindra's Development system and timeline standards.
  • Lead product improvement initiatives, cost reduction projects, additional and alternate sourcing activities.
  • Address field complaints and implement capacity enhancement solutions for Engine Prop.Air Cooling, Fuel Cooler and Exhaust System Components,
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution and timely delivery.

Qualifications & Experience

Education                                                         : B.E. in Mechanical Engg /Production Engg.

Experience                                                       : 6-9yrs experience

Preferred Industry Background          : Experience with tractor or automotive OEMs or Tier 1 suppliers.

  • Cost Estimation                           : Proficiency in cost drivers, cost estimation for parts and tooling and manufacturing processes.
  • Project Management                 : Competence in project planning, time management, and execution.
  • Technical Tools                             : Proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Power BI)
  • Quality Systems                           : Understanding of APQP, VPPAP, and other relevant quality systems.
