Position Details Position  Asst. Manager -- GSL, Transaxle Assembly
Business Unit/Division MVML
Reports To  Manager- Achyut Kadam
Place of Posting  Chakan
Responsibilities & Key Deliverables 1.       New gear development:-
a.       Drawing reading and quality requirement of the gear.
b.       Preparation of the PFC for the component.
c.       Selection of the tools and fixtures for new gear.
Prototype gear development.
1.       Cycle time calculation:-
a.       Time calculation for new gear.
2.       Process optimization:-
a.       Stock reduction for gear grinding and gear honing process.
b.       Cutting stock calculation with the help of BHT and AHT study of the component.
c.       Cycle time reduction.
d.       Analyzing the lead-profile issues of the gear in relation to the process (Hobs, dressers, Fixtures and grinding wheels/ Honing stones).
e.       Selection of the grinding wheel/ honing stone grades.
f.        Calculation of Cp & Cpk for the process to monitor the process sustainability.
g.       Process parameter optimization.
1.       Process Documentation:-
a.       Preparation of the process flow chart.
b.       Preparation of DCP & PFMEA for the process.
c.       Tool life monitoring chart.
Machine Side:
1.       Geometrical checking:-
a.       Axis alignment of the machine. ( hobbing, grinding, honing, turning, OD grinding)
2.       Machine components Effect:-
a.       Analyze the effect of worn out machine part on the gear quality (lead-profile & Pitch errors).
b. Adjustment of the out of tolerance parameters of the machine components.
Job Requirements Experience (years) 3-5 years for BE
9-12 years for Diploma
Industry Preferred  Automobile transmission Assembly area
Qualification Degree in Mechanical  / Production Engineering preferable,
Marathi speaking language requirement,

General Requirements   1) Knowledge of transmissions, transaxles & Power Take off / Trasfer case assembly
2) Knowledge of latest assembly process (transmission)
3) Knowledge of Test benches & NVH analysis,
4) Knowledge of quality systems
5) In depth understanding of Ergonnomic and concern resolution
6) Person is required to work in shifts.
Functional Competencies / Skills critical for the job   • Should have good knowledge of assembly process, assembly PPAP trials etc. preferably in transmission Assembly.
• Should be able to ensure Internal production & quality targets of Assembly.
• Design & Conduct handson training sessions and multiskilling plan of workmen through OJT.
• Good knowledge of gear manufacturing & gear inspection processes and statistical tools.
• Should be able to effectively allocate routine jobs to shift oerators as per schedule and TACT time.
• Analytical skills specially for Testing Rework elimination.
• High Communication & Interpersonal skills (relationship building with entire team) with good leadership qualities.
• Cost Conscious & Innovative thinking style (through Improvement initiatives).
• Process Oriented & Quality Conscious.
• Knowledge of Transmission & Testing process
• Good Knowledge of TPM, especially Autonomous Maintenance.
