Manager - Demand Planning

Responsibilities & Key Deliverables
Job Roles and Responsibility :
This Demand & Supply Planning position is responsible for all spare parts forecasting, inventory management, and replenishment planning activities associated with customers and products. The Demand & Supply Planner creates forecast models, establishes inventory policies, and creates replenishment plans for spare parts management across key business sectors and sales channels.
• Develop demand forecasts at multiple levels of aggregation for multiple time horizons as part of a demand planning function.
• Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, develop statistical forecast models, and evaluate forecast results.
• Utilize a collaborative and consensus approach by working with relevant stakeholders to ensure accurate information is used for demand forecasts.
• Establish inventory targets for demand fulfilment and determine optimal stock levels across central distribution centres and regional warehouses
• Develop inventory control models to allocate and position optimal levels of cycle, safety, and pipeline inventory within the entire distribution network.
• Provide inputs to the Sourcing organization in developing inventory strategies on existing items, new products, and product phase-outs.
• Create replenishment plans for timely scheduling of purchase orders on supplier base to continuously improve parts availability for customer service.
• Anticipate demand and supply variations to proactively manage parts availability to prevent stockout and overstock situations
• Maintain demand & supply planning system and software to seamlessly implement day-to-day planning, executing, and monitoring activities.
Systems/ SAP knowledge:
JDA Software Solutions - Working knowledge of Demand 360, Inventory Optimization, & Fulfillment modules
SAP – Materials Management (MM), Advanced Planning & Optimization (APO)
Any Additional Knowledge:
Professional certifications like CPIM and/or CSCP would be desirable.
Education Qualification
BTech/MBA
General Experience
Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in Demand & Supply planning methods.
Critical Experience
Skill Set:
Functional Competency – Knowledge and experience in spare parts management would be a plus. Minimum BA/BS/BE degree in operations management, supply chain management, industrial engineering, material management, or a related field. MS/ME/MBA with focus on operations & supply chain management would be preferred.
Leadership Competency- Exposure to leading and executing supply chain improvement projects across different functions within the supply chain organization.
Communication Skills – Strong ability to verbalize business requirements, achieve consensus, and align business processes across multiple business functions
