Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

  • Quality Management System (QMS) Development:

    • Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System specific to the ICE vehicle line.
    • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company policies.
  • Quality Planning and Strategy:

    • Create and execute quality plans for new vehicle models and processes.
    • Define quality metrics and establish quality benchmarks for ICE vehicle components and assemblies.
  • Process Control and Improvement:

    • Monitor and control manufacturing processes to ensure they meet quality standards.
    • Lead continuous improvement initiatives, utilizing tools like Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and root cause analysis.
  • Supplier Quality Management:

    • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure they meet quality requirements.
    • Conduct supplier audits, assess supplier performance, and manage corrective actions for quality issues.
  • Product Inspection and Testing:

    • Oversee inspection and testing of ICE components and finished vehicles to ensure they meet design specifications and safety standards.
    • Manage the validation of testing processes and ensure that all required tests are conducted.
  • Compliance and Regulatory Adherence:

    • Ensure that all manufacturing processes and products comply with relevant automotive standards and regulations (e.g., ISO/TS 16949, SAE standards).
    • Prepare for and manage audits from regulatory bodies and certification agencies.
  • Team Leadership and Development:

    • Lead and mentor the QA team, providing guidance and training to ensure high performance and adherence to quality standards.
    • Develop and implement training programs for staff to enhance their quality-related skills and knowledge.
  • Problem Solving and Issue Resolution:

    • Address quality issues promptly, employing problem-solving techniques to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
    • Manage and track quality-related KPIs and metrics, and report on performance to senior management.
  • Customer Quality Assurance:

    • Manage customer feedback and warranty claims related to quality issues, working to resolve complaints and improve customer satisfaction.
    • Analyze customer returns and field failures to identify quality improvement opportunities.
  • Documentation and Reporting:

    • Ensure proper documentation of quality processes, inspection results, and non-conformance reports.
    • Prepare and present regular quality performance reports to management.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:

    • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and design teams to address quality concerns and support new product development.
    • Participate in cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of quality objectives with overall business goals.
  • Risk Management:

    • Identify potential risks related to manufacturing quality and develop mitigation strategies.
    • Implement risk assessment processes to preemptively address quality concerns.
