Position Title: Project Procurement Lead
Job Summary
The Project Procurement Lead is responsible for overseeing, planning, and executing all strategic sourcing and purchasing activities for specific company projects. This role ensures that all materials, equipment, and services are acquired within budget, delivered on schedule, and meet designated quality standards. Operating at a strategic, project-specific level, this lead aligns vendor management with overall project milestones while mitigating supply chain risks.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Sourcing Strategy
• Develop and execute comprehensive project procurement plans, timelines, and contracting strategies aligned with project stage-gates and baselines.
2. Tender & Contract Management
• Lead the end-to-end RFI/RFP/RFQ processes.
• Draft, negotiate, and finalize high-value vendor contracts, ensuring favorable commercial terms, pricing, and robust risk mitigation.
3. Supplier & Stakeholder Management
• Function as the primary liaison between internal project teams (Engineering, Finance, Project Management) and third-party vendors.
• Resolve contractual variations, delays, or performance discrepancies.
4. Vendor-Centric Cost Control & Budgeting
• Collaborate closely with Cost Managers to monitor expenditures against budgets.
• Drive cost-saving initiatives and map out financial risks or market cost trend opportunities.
5. Compliance & Governance
• Ensure all procurement transactions adhere strictly to legal frameworks, corporate governance, and ethical supply chain standards.
6. Tracking & Performance Evaluation
• Establish, track, and report on project-specific procurement KPIs.
• Maintain accurate records of item delivery speeds, quality, and vendor compliance rates.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or Engineering.
Experience
• 5+ years of progressive experience in procurement, with specific experience managing project-based or capital-expenditure (CapEx) sourcing.
Technical Skills
• Proficient with ERP software (e.g., SAP), advanced Excel, and supplier management software.
Soft Skills
• Strong contract law understanding, cross-functional leadership, and exceptional negotiation skills.
Certifications
• Professional certifications like CIPS, CPSM, or PMP are highly preferred.
