Manager - SQE, Mettalurgy

Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

1. Knowldge of  Heat Treatment, Forging, Surface Treatment, Welding, Powder Metallurgy, Casting processes.
2. Knowledge of Metallurgical Testing, Metallurgical failure analysis & remedial actions.
3. Knowledge of Automotive component manufacturing processes.
4. Basic knowledge about raw material requirements, material properties & their impact on part functions. 
5. Familiar with PPAP, SPC, MSA, 7 QC tools, etc
6. Drive collaboration with suppliers to improve their special processes, metallurgical checks and reduce potential metallurgical defects. 
7. Ensure that the lessons learned from product families are shared with the platform team (COE, CDMM etc.) for new product development as input for prevention of repeated known issues
8. Provide support and involvement in new product development through early involvement into product development Process and completion of joint PPAP with CDMM
9. Participation & Co ordination of concern resolution with Field, User plant and in-house for critical parts
10. Monitor supplier performance , plan special process audits and concern audits. 
11.Evaluation of performance of suppliers and monitor the improvement plans
12. Enhance technical capabilities of vendor through systems and knowledge upgradations
13. Review, Analyze and implement results of quality audits at supplier end.

 

 

Experience

BE/B tech (Metallurgy) 6 to 12 years

 

Industry Preferred

Automotive

BE /B Tech / M.Tech (Metallurgy)
