Responsibilities & Key Deliverables
As the Senior Engineer - NVH at Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality of our products' noise, vibration, and harshness characteristics. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Demonstrating a thorough understanding of vehicle NVH frontloading, particularly in light commercial vehicles (LCVs).
- Exhibiting strong skills in updating models for correlating operational NVH performance, ensuring our products meet the industry's highest standards.
- Creating and implementing effective solutions aimed at enhancing vehicle performance regarding NVH.
- Conducting advanced simulations, including engine-induced structure-borne simulations, sensitivity analysis, and diagnostics such as TPA, MCA, and PCA.
- Managing the complexities involved in variability considerations during simulations.
- Utilising NVH optimization tools such as LMS Virtual LAB effectively while collaborating on various design validation plans (DVPs).
- Assessing and resolving noise and vibration issues in road-induced structure-borne simulations.
- Implementing design solutions and cascading vehicle-level operational NVH targets to specific simulation targets.
- Documenting processes and preparing content for multiple projects, ensuring manufacturability, cost efficiency, and performance integrity.
Experience
To excel in this role, you should possess:
- Solid expertise in automotive NVH, specifically with experience in light commercial vehicles (LCVs).
- A background in NVH simulations, preferably 2 to 5 years, involving full vehicle finite element (FE) model building using HyperMesh.
- Experience in creating NASTRAN decks for SOL 108 and SOL 111, using Virtual Lab.
- Proficiency in FEM/BEM acoustic analysis with tools such as Sysnoise and Virtual Lab.
- Competency in post-processing techniques including TPA and PCA using industry-standard software.
Industry Preferred
We highly prefer candidates with experience in the automotive sector as this role significantly contributes to our product development process and overall vehicle quality.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
- A degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering.
- At least one year of practical experience in NVH.
General Requirements
In addition to the technical requirements, we expect all team members to:
- Exhibit strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think analytically.
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Adapt to evolving project requirements and maintain flexibility in approach.
