Responsibilities & Key Deliverables
As a Senior Engineer in Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) at Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, you will play a pivotal role in the development of innovative automotive solutions. Your primary responsibilities will encompass the following:
1. You should be proficient in finite element modelling of vehicle components and systems, ensuring a thorough understanding and adherence to the established quality check sheets for elements and parts.
You will assign relevant thicknesses and materials to all components in accordance with industry standards.
2. You will be responsible for constructing finite element assemblies for vehicle structures, necessitating a solid understanding of diverse connection types, including spot and seam welding methodologies.
3. You will apply loads and define boundary conditions necessary for static analysis and execute modal analysis for both individual components and complex systems.
4. You will post-process results, generating comprehensive reports that convey analysis outcomes effectively to various stakeholders.
5. An advanced knowledge of vehicle components and their integration within systems is essential for the role.
6. Strong fundamentals in the principles of the strength of materials and applied mechanics will be critical.
7. A background in conducting analyses on body and chassis systems is a key requirement, ensuring robust understanding of vehicle dynamics.
Experience
To excel in this position, the ideal candidate should possess the following experience and expertise:
- A minimum of 3 to 6 years' professional experience in the automotive sector, particularly focusing on vehicle systems dynamics.
- A proven track record of proficiency in conducting various tests on vehicle systems, together with the capability to recommend impactful design modifications based on analytical outcomes.
- In-depth knowledge of the principles of strength of materials, applied mechanics, and advanced finite element methods is crucial.
- Hands-on experience with essential tools, which include:
- Meshing tools such as Hypermesh and SIMLAB.
- Solvers like Nastran, Abaqus, and Ansys for accurate simulations.
- Post-processing software such as Hyperview and FEMFAT, ensuring high-quality outputs tailored for client and stakeholder presentations.
