Responsibilities & Key Deliverables
New Part Sourcing
- Finalize the supplier panel for new part development programs
- Lead negotiations and achieve final price sign-off for new sourced parts
Periodic Price Settlements
- Manage price settlements arising from raw material (RM) fluctuations and Engineering Change Notices (ECNs)
- Ensure all price revisions are based on established RM indices for consistency and transparency
Budgeting
- Prepare budgets for commodity price movements and conversion cost increases
- Provide accurate cost forecasts to support business planning
Cost Mitigation (VA/VE)
- Mitigate price increases through Value Analysis / Value Engineering initiatives
- Proactively identify and implement cost-reduction opportunities
Supplier Quality
- Drive continuous improvement in supplier quality performance
- Lead corrective actions to resolve quality issues at the supplier end
New Technology Sourcing
- Identify and develop suppliers capable of meeting new technology requirements (e.g., EV, lightweighting, ADAS components)
AI & Productivity
- Use AI tools to identify opportunities for improving sourcing systems and productivity
Supplier Contracts & Risk Mitigation
- Ensure robust supplier contracts are in place to mitigate future supply chain disruptions
- Ensure ongoing supplier compliance with quality, regulatory, and sustainability requirements
Commodity Management
- Own sourcing strategy across Sheet Metal, Casting, Forging, Fasteners, Plastics, Rubber, and Proprietary components
Complex Problem Solving
- Handle high-complexity, cross-functional sourcing challenges with sound judgment and analytical rigor
Experience
15 years and beyond in the similar industry preferred.
Industry Preferred
Automotive – PV/ CV
Qualifications
B Tech / MBA
No Diploma holders.
General Requirements
- Good analytical skills, Negotiation capability.
- Commodity knowledge in Sheet metal, casting, forging, fasteners, Plastic, Rubber & Proprietary
- Ability to handle complex tasks, detail oriented, high integrity
- Experience: 12- 15 yrs
- Industry Preferred: Automotive – PV/ CV
- Qualifications: B Tech / MBA
