Responsibilities & Key Deliverables
The primary responsibilities and key deliverables for the role of Assistant Manager in our Test Lab - Fatigue Lab at Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd encompass a comprehensive range of tasks designed to ensure the integrity and performance of our automotive components. These include:
- Executing Component Level testing and instrumentation with precise adherence to established protocols and methodologies.
- Leveraging in-depth knowledge of Servo Hydraulic systems and controller operations, coupled with proficient use of simulation software such as IST TWR and MOOG Replication to validate designs.
- Developing robust Test Fixtures tailored to vehicle boundary conditions using CAD software tools, including CATIA and PRO E, which are critical to our testing processes.
- Conducting thorough testing in accordance with specified requirements, ensuring timely release of comprehensive reports that encapsulate all relevant observations and conclusions.
- Performing Strain gauging on components, accurately measuring strain through a data acquisition system, and executing preliminary data processing using nCode software to facilitate informed decision-making.
- Instrumenting test samples within the lab environment, ensuring experiments yield reliable and accurate data.
- Participating actively in DFMEA sessions, contributing testing insights to the design team, and communicating detailed testing requirements to project teams as part of the cross-functional testing team (CFT).
- Supporting the lab management system to ensure efficient operation and maintenance of testing equipment.
- Fostering effective communication with Centres of Excellence (COEs) as well as internal teams to promote collaboration and innovation.
- Exhibiting capabilities as an individual contributor and self-motivator, driving projects to successful completion through diligence and tenacity.
Experience
We seek candidates with a robust professional background that reflects their expertise in automotive testing and engineering. Ideal applicants will possess:
- 4 to 5 years of relevant experience in the industry, showcasing a consistent record of performance.
- A strong grasp of Automotive testing methodologies and practices, with an emphasis on real-world application.
- Hands-on work experience with servo hydraulic systems and controllers, demonstrating the ability to effectively manipulate and analyse these systems.
- Extensive experience in fixture development, showcasing creativity and technical skill in designing effective testing apparatus.
- Proven skills in strain gauging and instrumentation, showing familiarity with a variety of tools and techniques essential for testing automotive components.
- A thorough knowledge of overall vehicle systems and their functionality, positioning candidates to add value beyond immediate responsibilities.

Qualifications
