Responsibilities & Key Deliverables
In the role of Engineer - Vehicle Architecture, you will be responsible for defining and maintaining the complete vehicle architecture, ensuring that all components and systems integrate harmoniously to meet overall vehicle requirements. You will translate high-level demands into detailed vehicle-level specifications, coordinating closely across engineering teams to lead the concept development, packaging, and system integration phases. Your work will encompass cross-functional collaboration to guarantee compatibility across all sub-systems, addressing design feasibility, manufacturability, and performance optimization within the Farm Division. Additionally, you will participate in project reviews, identify potential risks and mitigation strategies, and support continuous improvements in vehicle design and architecture processes to enhance product quality and customer satisfaction.
Experience
We are seeking candidates with the following experience levels, demonstrating a solid foundation in mechanical and automotive engineering principles, as well as practical application in vehicle development:
- Bachelor of Engineering (BE): 4 to 8 years of relevant experience with hands-on exposure to vehicle system design, integration, and validation processes.
- Master of Engineering (ME): 2 to 4 years of specialized experience focusing on advanced vehicle architecture development, with an emphasis on innovative packaging and system compatibility.
Experience within multidisciplinary project teams and familiarity with automotive or tractor industry standards will be highly valued. Candidates possessing proficiency in CAD software, simulation tools, and knowledge of automotive manufacturing processes will have an advantage. Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in dynamic environments are essential.
Industry Preferred
Preferred candidates will come from the automotive or tractor manufacturing industries, bringing industry-specific knowledge critical to the Farm Division's objectives. Prior engagement in companies producing commercial vehicles, agricultural machinery, or heavy equipment will provide beneficial context for this role. Understanding of industry regulations, safety norms, and environmental standards within these sectors will contribute positively to vehicle architecture development and compliance.
Qualifications
Educational qualifications required for this role include:
- Bachelor's Degree (BE): Mechanical Engineering or Automobile Engineering from a recognised institution.
- Master's Degree (ME): In Mechanical or Automobile Engineering, with a focus on vehicle systems or related specialisations being advantageous.
Candidates should demonstrate strong theoretical knowledge combined with practical application skills in vehicle design, systems engineering, and integration methodologies. Additional certifications or training in automotive systems architecture, project management, or quality standards (such as ISO/TS 16949) will be considered a plus.
General Requirements
This position is based within the Product Development department of Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd's Farm Division, located at the K2 Platform. The role does not require travel, allowing focus on in-depth engineering responsibilities within the facility.
