Responsibilities & Key Deliverables
As a Lead Engineer - CAE at Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd within the Automotive Division, you will play a crucial role in creating full vehicle runnable crash FE models and simulating crash tests using CAE software such as LSDYNA, Hypermesh, Lsprepost, and Primer. Your responsibilities will include simulating crash tests from different angles - frontal, side, rear, pedestrian, etc, and optimizing durable design to enhance crash performance with minimum mass. You will work closely with the design team to recommend modifications for improved crash CAE to test correlation, mentor junior engineers, and ensure project timelines are met efficiently.
Additionally, your role will involve conducting crash test data analyses, suggesting design modifications for greenlighting the design, and collaborating on iterative improvements. Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills will be essential, along with project planning and resource allocation capabilities.
Experience
For this role, we are looking for candidates with 3 to 6 years of experience in Crash Analysis using LSDYNA, Hypermesh, Primer, D3plot, and Lsprepost. A solid foundation in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and mechanical engineering fundamentals is required. You should be well-versed in US, European, Australian, and Indian crash standards, with expertise in non-linear, dynamic, explicit FE Analysis, time step considerations, and various elements related to crash simulations.
Industry Preferred
The preferred industry background for this position would include experience in automotive or transportation sectors, specifically in the field of vehicle crash simulations and testing. Expertise in leading-edge CAE tools and techniques within the automotive industry will be highly valued. Previous exposure to working on projects adhering to global crash safety standards will be advantageous.
Qualifications
To qualify for the Lead Engineer - CAE role, you should hold a B.E. in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of first-class distinction. A preferred qualification would be an M.Tech/M.E. in Machine Design from a reputed institute like IIT or equivalent. Your academic background should demonstrate a strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles, finite element analysis, and crash simulation methodologies.
