Responsibilities & Key Deliverables
Requires adequate knowledge on alloy wheel design, manufacturing & painting process, performance, loading, interfaces etc.
Release designs and handle design changes through product life management software – CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE.
Understand latest developments in alloy wheel design / manufacturing process and incorporate the viable / cost effective ideas aligning supplier & Cross Functional Team.
Responsibilities for Candidates
Utilize Computer aided design [CAD] software CATIA V6 to create detailed technical drawings, Layouts and specifications for automotive components / systems.
Responsible for alloy wheel design, development, successful validation, vehicle build support, lead resolving engineering issues, study packaging etc.
Achieve design, cost, weight, quality and functional targets.
Review quality history, update DFMEA / special & critical characteristics and other quality documents.
Review benchmarking data / existing design and establish best in class / cost-effective design.
Establish periodic interaction with sourced suppliers for developing wheels, to meet all design requirements etc.
Engage Cross Functional Team & align on implementation plan, track it effectively till implementation. Seek necessary support on time for any challenges to meet the implementation date.
Own DVP&R content and execution – familiar with all aspects of Wheel DV testing.
Support PPAP process
Qualifications for Candidates
Skills required:
Knowledge on Wheel design & development
Wheel & Tire assembly process
Knowledge on DVP, FMEA, APQP
CATIA V6, 3DEXPERIENCE, CAE
Good interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
Be a self-motivated good team player.
Experience
Experience - 5 to 10 years
