Lead Engineer - NVH

Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:

  1. Achieve set NVH targets such as Incab Noise and Tactile Vibrations through effective collaboration with the design team and implementing structural changes across multiple simultaneous projects. 
  2. Construct Full Vehicle Finite Element (FE) Models adhering to established processes and quality standards.
  3. Regularly prepare comprehensive reports, presentations, and work plans to communicate findings and updates to relevant stakeholders.
  4. Execute technology development projects by staying abreast of the latest techniques and applying them effectively.
  5. Cultivate mastery of advanced simulation and analysis tools to enhance project delivery.

Specific Tasks Include:
1) Building and debugging Full Vehicle FE models, analysing various load cases.
2) Conducting system-level global & local stiffness load cases.
3) Performing trimmed body level NTF & VTF evaluations.
4) Developing the vehicle-level modal map.
5) Analysing structure-borne cabin noise & vibrations under idle and WOT conditions.
6) Investigating structure-borne cabin noise & vibrations on varied road surfaces.
7) Conducting optimisation using Optistruct & Mode Frontier techniques.
8) Customising and automating simulation tools to enhance the execution efficiency of DVPs.
9) Performing Modal Analysis, TPA, ODS, PCA & Vibro-Acoustics Analysis.
10) Correlating simulation load cases to ensure accuracy and relevance.

Be an integral part of the Multiple Project Cross-Functional Team (CFT), executing NVH Simulations DVP while optimising structure under the supervision of your Manager.

Experience

Experience:

Ideal candidates should possess between 10 to 12 years of experience in the automotive sector, particularly with a firm grasp of NVH concepts at component, assembly, and full vehicle levels.
Demonstrated excellence in executing complex projects and leading teams effectively towards achieving superior vehicle NVH performance is essential.

Your extensive background should reflect a commitment to quality and detail in all NVH aspects, ensuring both team and vehicle success in NVH deliverables. Additionally, candidates should exhibit strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to project challenges.

Additional Areas of Expertise Required:
- Automotive NVH Expertise: encompassing Idle NVH, Powertrain NVH, and Road NVH.
- Over 7 years of NVH Simulations experience required (full vehicle FE model building using Hypermesh, NASTRAN decks for SOL 108, SOL 111 using Virtual Lab, FEM/BEM Acoustic analysis using Virtual Lab, post-processing like TPA/PCA using Virtual Lab, Altair NV Director, SVD FE Gate, MSC Nastran).

Industry Preferred

Industry Preferred:

The preferred industry is automotive. Candidates with experience in automotive systems, specifically related to NVH will be given preference. Familiarity with the latest trends and technologies in the automotive field, especially those pertinent to vehicle acoustics and vibrations, is advantageous and will strengthen your application.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, specifically BE/B.Tech or ME/M.Tech, is required. Your educational background should provide a solid foundation in engineering principles, particularly those applicable to vehicle dynamics, noise control, and vibration analysis.

Additional certifications related to NVH testing and simulation tools may enhance your candidacy, showcasing a commitment to professional development in this specialised field.
