Responsibilities & Key Deliverables
As a Lead Engineer - NVH at Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, you will play a crucial role in optimising automotive systems to enhance noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) performance. Your responsibilities will include:
- Demonstrating a strong understanding of automotive systems modelling, specifically in Body in White (BIW), cradles, chassis frames, closures, steering, and seating NVH.
- Executing static and dynamic analysis, employing optimisation techniques to effectively modify designs and meet project targets swiftly.
- Assessing global stiffness, global modes, and dynamic stiffness to ensure robust designs.
- Conducting model updates to correlate and validate operational NVH performance with simulation outcomes.
- Incorporating variability considerations into simulations to enhance model accuracy.
- Evaluating the effect of system-level performance on overall vehicle performance, identifying potential improvements.
Tools and Processes you'll use include:
- Creating process documentation for system-level NVH simulations and optimisation.
- Utilising optimisation tools, such as Mode Frontier, to advance our noise and vibration performance metrics.
- Developing new design validation plans (DVPs) that preemptively address NVH issues at the system level.
- Delivering system-level DVPs for multiple projects while adhering to timelines and NVH performance criteria.
Your role will also involve implementing design solutions that take into account manufacturability, cost, and time constraints, while consistently achieving system-level NVH performance across diverse projects.
Experience
A successful candidate will bring extensive experience to this position:
- Minimum of 5 - 8 years of experience in automotive NVH analysis and simulation.
- Proficiency in full vehicle finite element (FE) model building using Altair Hypermesh, alongside experience in conducting static and dynamic analysis and optimisation using software such as MSC NASTRAN, MSC ACTRAN, and Altair OPTISTRUCT.
- A proven track record in NVH behaviour analysis with a focus on automotive systems.
- Hands-on experience with LMS/Virtual Lab for comprehensive simulations.
Your background should highlight a strong foundation in product development focused on NVH, showcasing your ability to deliver innovative solutions within the automotive sector.
