Lead Engineer-Safety Systems Integration

Responsibilities & Key Deliverables
Safety Validation Plan preparation: 1) Preparing Vehicle level safety validation time plan according to Vehicle development plan and Project Dafety Teargets 2) Preparing Vehicle level Safety DVP for safety development during various stages of development.3) Exposure to Safety Budget Preparation would be added advantage
Safety Benchmarking & Concept Evaluation: 1) Carrying out detailed benchmarking from Safety perspective 2) Providing early inputs on Safety parameters like Restraint configuration, Front end spaces, Sub systems specs like Seating systems, Steering columns, Front Bumper, BIW, IP etc
Safety Testing and Validation: 1) Crash test Spec preparation 2) Co ordinating with project team in test vehicle build 3) Co ordinating Safety tests 4) Test data analysis and report preparation with action plan for improvement
AIRBAG ECU Calibration: 1) Exposure to Airbag ECU calibration will be expected
CAD capability: Brief exposure to Design and drafting in CatiaV5 R21.
CFT Exposure: 1) Ability to work closely with CAE team to understand simulation reports and support in calibration activity 2) Work closely with other subsystems like BIW/IP/Seating systems/Steering systems/Restraints and contribution of same in vehicle safety performance 3) Work closely with homologation team in vehicle Safety certification tests 4) Work closely with Project team to ensure crash vehicle-built quality and engineering content

Experience
The ideal candidate for this position should have 6-8 years of experience in vehicle safety tests, restraint tuning, DVP for safety development, airbag ECU calibration, and proficiency in safety test data analysis tools such as Diadem, PC Crash, and Motion View. Proficiency in Catia V5, Teamcenter Engineering, GD&T, and tolerance stack-up is also required.
Industry Preferred
Experience in automotive OEMs or Tier 1 suppliers is highly preferred for this role, as it involves working closely with industry-leading organizations like Tata Motors, Suzuki, Renault Nissan, Ford, Autoliv, TRW, among others. Knowledge of the automotive sector's safety standards and practices is a valuable asset for this position.
Qualifications
The qualifications for this role include a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or equivalent, with a preference for candidates holding a Master's degree in Engineering. Certification in relevant safety testing processes and tools would be advantageous for candidates applying for this position.
