Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

Packaging & Feasibility: To package Restraints components (Airbag & Seat Blet System) in the vehicle environment.
CAD capability: Design and drafting in CatiaV5 R21, to work out various proposals based on conceptual design.
Interface study: To check interface issues. Prepare interface sign-off sheet. Co-ordinating with cross function teams (BIW, Trims, Electrical etc) to communicate the safety requirements and consider it in their design.
Dealing with supplier: Preparing SoR for vehicle safety restraint parts of a project. Development of Restraints Systems with Supplier. Follow-up with Supplier for design activities, DFMEA and DVP& R completion on time.
Airbag Zone study: To map airbag coverage zone Ex. CAB , SAB and KAB.
Pedestrian Zone: To create Pedestrian impact zone on vehicle in CAD.
Deliverables: 
1) Safety restraint BoM layout and Parts number creation in Team center.
2) Creation and release of all part design drawings in Team Center as per timeline & for Homologation Certification.
3) Prepare DVP, safety systems development plan etc and conduct DFMEA.
4) Concern resolution related to restraints system during proto build, TCF line build and address issues quickly with corrective actions.
5) Weight reduction, cost reduction & Warranty Reduction idea generation and implementation. 
6) Executing overall vehicle safety performance (Frontal, Side, Pedestrian, Child safety etc)
7) Creating crash test plan & vehicle and sled test matrix for a project.
8) Analysing of crash test data and restraint component performance, preparing reports with action plan to mitigate the risk at early stage of program.
9) Addressing possible conflicts and offering trade-offs between various vehicle sub-systems to achieve optimum safety performance.

a) Restriants Systems components Integration (Airbag & Seat belt system).
b) Through Knowledge on safety regulations in India, Europe, Australia and North Americ etc and to define requirements to meet GNCAP, ENCAP & Latin NCAP target.
c) Experinece in developing Vehicle Safety system performance targets for Body, Chassis, Trims, Seats & other aggregates.
d) Hands on experience on crash test data Analysis, root cause identification & provide solution.
5) Knowledge of crash & occupant simulation, vehicle and component level testing, analysis & result interpretation.
 

Experience

Domain knowledge of Restraints systems design , packaging interfaces and DVPs
Knowldege on Safety regulations, NCAP safety and Homologation  
Catia V5 (Solid , Surfacing , Assembly and Drafting)
Teamcenter 11, Diadem and X-crash/PC-evaluation
GD&T, Tolerance Stack-up Analysis

Qualifications

BE-Mech, BE-Auto or Equivalent
