Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

Vehicle system knowledge:

Understanding of tractor subsystems, including engine, transmission, hydraulics, and their interactions, ensuring optimal vehicle-level performance and efficiency.
Electronic Power Shuttle Transmission (EPST)
Basic Transmission Dynamics:
Knowledge of clutch operation, gear engagement, and forward/reverse switching.
Understanding torque transfer and its impact on power delivery during shuttle operations.
Electronic Control Features:
Familiarity with electronic modulation of clutch actuation for smoother transitions.
Awareness of shuttle calibration parameters, such as response timing and engagement smoothness.
Calibration and Testing:
Expertise in tuning clutch engagement/disengagement for optimal performance in field conditions.
Ensuring minimal wear-and-tear on mechanical components through calibration.
System-Level Integration
Communication Protocols:
Knowledge of CAN and LIN communication protocols for subsystem data sharing.
Understanding how ECUs share data and interact with other vehicle systems for seamless operations.
Subsystem Dependencies:
Insight into how changes in one subsystem (e.g., transmission) affect others (e.g., engine or hydraulics).
Ability to balance calibration across systems for optimal vehicle performance.
Electronic Hydrostatic Transmission (EHS)
Hydrostatic Transmission Principles:
Knowledge of fluid power systems, including pump and motor operation in a hydrostatic loop.
Understanding of electronic control requirements for speed, pressure, and flow regulation.
Load Sensing and Response:
Ability to calibrate the system to dynamically adjust to varying loads and terrains.
Understanding of proportional valve control and feedback loops for smooth operation.
System Optimization:
Balancing efficiency, power delivery, and heat management for prolonged operations.
Tuning the system to minimize jerks and ensure seamless speed transitions.
Diagnostics and Fault Handling
Troubleshooting and Fault Codes:
Understanding DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) and their relevance to system-level faults.
Ability to identify root causes of calibration-related issues using diagnostic tools.
Fail-Safe and Redundancy Mechanisms:
Knowledge of fail-safe strategies to ensure vehicle operability in case of system failures.
Implementing robust fault detection and recovery strategies for critical subsystems.
Calibration Tools and Software
Tools:
Proficiency in calibration tools such as INCA, CANalyzer, CANape, or ATIVision.
Familiarity with simulation environments like MATLAB/Simulink for modeling and testing.
Testing:
Ability to perform field testing and laboratory testing to validate calibration settings.
Expertise in analyzing data logs to refine system-level performance.
Adaptive Calibration Basics
Adaptation Mechanism:
Knowledge of how systems like EHS, EPST, and ECU adjust to varying loads and terrains.
Understanding the role of feedback loops in adaptive calibration.

BE / B.Tech / ME / M.Tech (Mechanical / Automobile/Mechatronics)

Software proficieincy - INCA, CANape, CANalyzer, or ATIVision.
Troubleshooting -  Identify and resolve issues during development / field trials
Documentation - Maintain accurate records of calibration procedures and results
Data Analysis: Analyze tractor / vehicle/ field data to identify trends and potential issues
