Lead Engineer - VPS

Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

  1. Simulate and evaluate the impact of engine component, system, and layout modifications on overall engine performance, including WOT & POT, BSFC, and transient behaviour.
    2. Expertise in system modelling alternative fuels such as CNG, DI CNG, and Flex Fuels.
    3. Generate detailed engine performance simulation reports and assist in setting torque and power performance targets.
    4. Innovate by proposing new technologies or simulation approaches to enhance performance, reduce costs, or address existing challenges.
    5. Interpret engine test data and identify reasons for discrepancies between predicted and actual performance results.
    6. Develop and adopt advanced methods for 1-D engine performance simulations to improve modelling capabilities.
    7. Perform predictive combustion modelling and simulations for part-throttle engine behaviour and emissions forecasting.
    8. Conduct MATLAB Simulink-based calculations as required.
    9.Possess knowledge of diesel and gasoline after-treatment systems and their modelling processes.
    10. Understand engine combustion systems and emissions modelling fundamentals.
    11. Working knowledge on 3D CFD simulations for flow, heat transfer & Combustion simulations.

Skills critical for the role:

 

1.Prior experience of handling & leading small teams.
2. Strong analytical abilities to process drivability test data, propose ratings, and identify opportunities for improvement.
3. Hands on experience in AVL Cruise / Cruise M, GT Suite, AVL Concerto, Converge CFD, AVL Fire, MATLAB, Simulink
4. Advance skills in excel, MATLAB ,PowerBI , python would be preferrable 
5. Solid understanding of automotive powertrain systems and engine performance fundamentals.
6. Good knowledge of data analysis fundamentals & hands on experience with analytical tools
7. Knowledge on  powertrain and engine dyno testing, particularly for engine performance testing.
8. Collaborative in nature to work across cross- functional teams seamlessly 

Experience

BE / ME - 8-10 years

Industry Preferred

1. Automobile OEM - 4 Wheeler
2. Tier 1 Powertrain Suppliers

1. Good communication skill
