Responsibilities & Key Deliverables
Role Purpose
Drive component and system localization initiatives to reduce cost, improve supply resilience, and strengthen supplier competitiveness while ensuring quality, delivery, and governance compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Localization Management
- Identify and execute import‑to‑local (I2L) and supplier localization opportunities across commodities.
- Lead localization feasibility, supplier onboarding, and part qualification activities.
- Coordinate ECN, PPAP, VAVE, and trial builds for localized parts.
- Ensure localization aligns with VOB, MRD, SOP timelines, and project gateways.
Cost Reduction & Value Engineering
- Drive cost saving initiatives through design optimization, sourcing strategies, re‑negotiation, and VAVE proposals.
- Track and deliver year‑on‑year cost reduction targets.
- Support business case preparation and approval for localization and rework strategies.
- Monitor realized vs. committed savings and ensure governance sign‑off.
Cross‑Functional & Supplier Coordination
- Work closely with SSU, SQE, Engineering, PCM, Finance, and Programs.
- Lead supplier discussions on cost, capacity, tooling, and localization roadmaps.
- Manage third‑party agencies where required (rework / conversion / trials).
Governance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with APQP, CDMM, AFCC, and internal approval processes.
- Identify and flag risks related to cost, quality, or schedule and drive mitigation plans.
- Maintain audit‑safe documentation and leadership‑ready status reporting.

- Localization percentage improvement
- Cost savings achieved (₹ / %)
- On‑time PPAP & VOB readiness
- Risk closures and issue mitigation
- Supplier performance improvement

10 - 12 yrs.
