Responsibilities & Key Deliverables
As a key member of the Product Development team at Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, particularly within the H1 Refresh Platform of the Farm Division, you will drive the technical advancement of tractor products. Your responsibilities will include engaging closely with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate technical risks through comprehensive Technical Design Review (TDR) meetings, ensuring robust collaboration across departments. You will translate complex product proposals and specific customer requirements into detailed functional and engineering design inputs, paving the path for successful product innovation.
Managing product complexity through adept variant management and clear architecture definition will be fundamental, as you set precise engineering boundaries and targets for aggregates aligned with product attributes and operational requirements. In supporting design release activities, you will ensure that new developments meet stringent Technology, Cost, and Performance (TCP) targets, thereby delivering quality outcomes aligned with business objectives.
Your contributions will extend to Quality Function Deployment (QFD) exercises that finalize product and design concepts, benchmarking competitive products to inform performance criteria, design confines, and strategic positioning in the market.
Specifically, you will define tractor hard points such as SIP, Wheelbase, Track Width, FOH, ROH, CG positions, Stability, 3PL Points, VHF, and weight distribution parameters, balancing technical precision with field practicality. Ergonomics and operator workspace evaluations will be central to delivering superior user experience by ensuring optimal controls, access, and egress.
You will actively participate in both virtual and physical mock-ups, capturing stakeholder feedback to refine final designs effectively. Deep analysis of physical and functional interface challenges, coupled with robust trade-off studies, will guide you in recommending optimal engineering solutions that integrate performance, serviceability, manufacturability, quality, and cost considerations.
Supporting virtual integration and subsystem packaging validations will be pivotal for seamless engineering workflows, while facilitating engineering initiatives across the entire product development lifecycle until final implementation.
This role requires a hands-on approach, strong cross-functional coordination skills, and a commitment to innovation that propels Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd's tractor portfolio to the forefront of industry standards.
