Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

As the PEL - K2 Platform, you will be a key driver in ensuring the successful delivery of project milestones in alignment with strategic product development initiatives within the Farm Division. Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating closely with platform Platform Engineering Lead (PEL) to guarantee the timely release of design documentation and the successful completion of associated builds.
  • Coordinating with Project Product Leads (PPLs) and suppliers to ensure adherence to Market Requirement Documents (MRDs) within designated project timelines.
  • Partnering with plant teams to proactively identify and resolve Open Root Cause (ORC) issues, ensuring that builds meet required quality and performance standards.
  • Liaising effectively with quality assurance teams to fulfill gateway deliverables, ensuring all project checkpoints are rigorously met.
  • Driving continuous improvement by providing feedback on design and build processes to enhance efficiency and product quality.
  • Facilitating cross-functional communication and collaboration to harmonise engineering efforts with production and quality objectives.

Your role will be pivotal in translating strategic product roadmaps into tangible outcomes, fostering teamwork across departments to meet deadlines and exceed quality standards.

Experience

We are seeking professionals with 7 to 10 years of comprehensive experience in product engineering within the off-highway vehicle domain. Ideal candidates will have substantial expertise in managing complex projects related to agricultural machinery, construction equipment, or harvesting systems.

  • Proven track record in overseeing design releases and build completions within stringent timeframes.
  • Demonstrated experience liaising with cross-functional teams including suppliers, quality assurance, and manufacturing plants.
  • Deep understanding of vehicle component design and dynamics, particularly in off-highway applications.
  • Strong familiarity with engineering change management and problem resolution in production environments.
  • Previous exposure to coordinating multiple stakeholders to deliver product requirements effectively.

Candidates with experience in navigating organisational ecosystems to deliver complex projects and who possess strong CAD capabilities will be highly valued.

Industry Preferred

The preferred industry background includes sectors specialising in off-highway vehicles such as agricultural tractors, construction machinery, and harvesting equipment manufacture. Experience within these industries equips candidates with the necessary knowledge of domain-specific challenges and innovation requirements.

  • Construction equipment companies
  • Harvesting and farm implement producers

Familiarity with the unique operational, regulatory, and quality standards endemic to these industries will enable a smoother transition and impactful contributions in the role.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Technology or Engineering, with specialisations in Mechanical or Agricultural disciplines strongly preferred. A rigorous academic background will provide the foundational knowledge critical to succeed in this role.

  • B.Tech. or B.E. in Mechanical Engineering
  • B.Tech. or B.E. in Agricultural Engineering

Additional certifications or training in advanced CAD software, vehicle dynamics, or product lifecycle management will enhance candidacy. Commitment to ongoing professional development is also expected to stay abreast of technological advancements.

General Requirements

In order to excel in this position, candidates must demonstrate an understanding of the organisational Engineering Change Order (ECO) ecosystem and exhibit the ability to work seamlessly within it to complete deliverables. Key requirements include:

  • Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools to develop and review component designs effectively.
  • Strong skills in mechanical component design ensuring functionality, manufacturability, and compliance with specifications.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of vehicle dynamics principles to influence design decisions that impact performance and safety.
  • Clear communication and collaboration skills for working with multidisciplinary teams across development, manufacturing, and quality assurance domains.

This role demands a proactive mindset, meticulous attention to detail, and the capability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced product development environment.
