Responsibilities & Key Deliverables
'- Lead the Lighting Product Group engineering function for all vehicle platforms.
- Lead the end-to-end product lifecycle for lighting systems – concept, design, validation, industrialization, and launch.
- Define and execute the lighting product roadmap aligned with OEM strategy and future mobility trends.
- Collaborate with design studios to integrate aesthetics with functional performance.
- Drive innovation in lighting technologies (LED, Light Projection, OLED, laser, adaptive Lighting, matrix Lighting, smart lighting).
- Ensure compliance with global automotive standards (AIS, ECE, SAE, FMVSS, AIS).
- Manage supplier partnerships to achieve cost, quality, and delivery targets.
- Benchmark global competitors and incorporate best practices.
- Build and mentor a high-performing engineering team fostering innovation and accountability.
'- Successful launch of lighting systems within time, cost, and quality targets.
- Introduction of next-generation lighting technologies into production vehicles.
- Filing of patents and IP related to lighting innovations.
- Reduction in warranty claims and achievement of zero-defect launches.
- Attainment of cost reduction targets through design optimization and supplier collaboration.
- 100% compliance with global safety and regulatory standards.
- Contribution to OEM’s brand differentiation through signature lighting designs.
Experience
15-18 years of experience in automotive product engineering, with at least 5 years in leadership roles.
Proven track record in lighting systems development (headlamps, tail lamps, DRLs, interior lighting, adaptive lighting).
Experience in OEM product lifecycle management (PLM) from concept to launch.
Exposure to domestic and global automotive standards (AIS, ECE, ISO, SAE, FMVSS).
Vendor and supplier management experience, especially with Tier-1 lighting suppliers.
Industry Preferred
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics or Automotive Engineering.
Master’s degree in Engineering Management, Product Design, or Business Administration preferred.
Specialized certifications in automotive lighting technologies, optics, or electronics are an advantage.

'- Willingness to travel: Open to short/medium term travel on need basis across India & overseas
- Strong understanding of global automotive market trends, customer preferences, and competitor strategies.
- Business Acumen: Experience in budget planning, cost control, and ROI analysis for product development.
- Global Exposure: Experience working with international teams, suppliers, and customers;
- Change Management: Ability to lead teams through organizational transformation and new technology adoption.
