Responsibilities & Key Deliverables
1. Lead Diagnostic Operations: Manage and coordinate remote vehicle diagnostics operations for BEVs across a variety of platforms.
2. Remote Diagnostics Strategy: Develop and implement strategies for effective remote vehicle diagnostics, ensuring accurate, real-time diagnostics from customer data, service tools, and remote access to vehicle systems.
3. Collaborative Team Management: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product development, and customer support, to identify, address, and resolve diagnostic issues.
4. Data Analytics: Analyze diagnostic data and vehicle performance reports to identify patterns, improve processes, and resolve recurring issues or malfunctions.
5. Customer Support: Support service teams, dealers, and end-users by providing troubleshooting assistance, resolving technical issues, and delivering diagnostic reports remotely.
6. Continuous Improvement: Establish KPIs for diagnostic performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing downtime, enhancing diagnostic accuracy, and increasing operational efficiency.
7. Training & Knowledge Sharing: Mentor and train internal and external teams on diagnostic tools, processes, and best practices. Foster a knowledge-sharing culture across the organization.
8. Innovation & Technology Adoption: Stay abreast of emerging diagnostic technologies, remote vehicle monitoring tools, and industry trends, and leverage this knowledge to continuously enhance diagnostic capabilities.
Experience
7 to 9 years (5+ years of experience in automotive diagnostics, vehicle systems, or automotive engineering, with at least 2 years in a lead role)
Industry Preferred
Experience with automotive OEMs or Tier 1 suppliers; Familiarity with electric vehicles (EV)
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field. Master’s degree or relevant certifications are a plus.
General Requirements
Experience with remote diagnostics tools, telematics systems, and vehicle network architectures (e.g., CAN, LIN, Ethernet).
Hands-on experience with automotive software platforms (e.g., OBD-II, vehicle diagnostics software, ECU reprogramming tools).
Proficient in data analysis, fault detection, and troubleshooting automotive issues.
Familiarity with diagnostic protocols and vehicle communication standards.
Experience with cloud-based diagnostics and remote vehicle monitoring systems.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to think critically and solve complex vehicle issues
Certifications in automotive diagnostics or related areas (e.g., ASE, SAE, Bosch, etc.).
