Senior Engineer

Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

1) Integrating various system designs in a vehicle while ensuring optimal cost, quality and performance.
2) Developing preliminary system design concepts to meet interface, functional, durability and performance requirements.
3) Working Collaboratively with various system design teams, simulation team, safety team, homologation team and others to ensure all systems get integrated optimally in vehicle package.
4) to conduct benchmarking from interface design, system design and integration perspective and get best practices adopted in vehicle systems
5) To verify, monitor and resolve vehicle package interface open points and Bill of materials (BOM).
6) To verify, monitor and resolve potential vehicle build/assembly concerns using CATIA/TC-Visualization/other DMU tools in collaboration with manufacturing team.To verify 7) Serviceability, accessibility & maintainability (SAM)of system designs using CATIA/TC-Visualization/other DMU tools
8) Carrying out DR’s, Interface-DFMEA with CFT
11) To prepare system design change content for complete vehicle, technical report detailing various options along with decision matrices, periodic updates for project team and management.
9) To ensure that through out project execution, overall vehicle architecture, ergonomics, cost, weight, quality is not compromised.
10) To study the product change requests from product planning and prepare design options, change matrix to help management take decisions.
12) to work with costing and component development team to verify over all product cost and investments with respect to proposed design changes.

Experience

Minimum 3+ years in field of Vehicle Integration/vehicle Architecture/Ergonomics/DMU ( for L7O)

Industry Preferred

>OEM's dealing in Passenger Cars & SUV's
>Service Providers to OEM's

Qualifications

B.E/B.Tech/M.Tech Mechanical/Automobile Engineering

Functional Competencies

1)     Must have prior experience in Vehicle integration or Vehicle Architecture of passenger cars/SUV's
2) Basic knowledge of regulatory requirements related to passenger vehicles
3) Basic knowledge of vehicle architecture and ergonomics
4)     Knowledge of Interface DFMEA/DVP/DFM/DFA/DFS, GD&T 
5)     knowledge of critical design/functional requirements of powertrain and other vehicle systems 
6)     Basic knowledge on FEA,CFD and NVH tools/techniques required to optimize vehicle systems
7)     Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes (blow moulding, injection moulding, extrusion, plastic welding;Sheet metal working, welding, metal casting, metal forging and prototyping techniques)
8)     Knowledge of basics of cost and investment drivers to enable vehicle/system optimization
9) Skills in benchmarking and competitive analysis
10) Preferable to possess passenger car driving skills and valid license
11) must proficiency in CATIA/3DS, TC-Visualization and equivalent CAD tools.
