Senior Engineer - Design COE EV

Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

 

  • Should have a clear in depth understanding of different Battery pack sub-system knowledge from Mechanical, Electrical, Thermal point view.
  • Strong understanding of safety regulations and standards in HV Battery Design & Development.
  • Adequate knowledge in Battery Cell level & Pack Electrothermal/Mechanical strength/Pack Cooling flow, Thermal/Crash/Vibration CAE simulations & testing DVPs.
  • Should have good knowledge in CAD modelling, drawing detailing, GD&T and tolerance stack-up.
  • Need to have Extrusion, Stamping, GDC/PDC, Forging, Sheet metal, and Plastic part manufacturing process with different welding/joining process knowledge.
  • Adequate Knowledge in DFMEA/IFMEA, DFC, DFM and DFS for Battery pack components.
  • Battery pack Performance, Range, Manufacturability, Reliability, Warranty, Life, Service Target Signoff with CFT team and other stakeholders.
  •  Experience managing a team of engineers and designers, with the ability to inspire and motivate the team to achieve results.
  • Should be able to work with world class consultants, suppliers, CFT members to make the design first time right, every time right decisions & execution.

B.E. in mechanical engineering, automobile or mechatronics

General Requirements

Function related:

    • Development experience in Mechanical Design, Engineering for Electric Passenger Car High Voltage Battery pack sub-systems.
    • Working experience with a team of engineers and designers to develop EV battery Pack systems that meet Mahindra Vehicle needs, ensure compliance with safety standards and Government regulatory requirements.
    • Should have knowledge of different Cell chemistry/HV Battery Pack Technologies.
    • Build relationships with key stakeholders in the CFT team including Design & testing agencies, critical suppliers, government agencies, research institutions.

 

Platform related:

    • Help Debottleneck all sub-Systems level functional interface conflicts faced by the project team.
    • Ensure proper coordination between multiple vehicle platform teams while reaching out to a common battery pack design.
