Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

As a Senior Engineer in NVH at Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, you will play a crucial role in the planning and execution of Noise, Vibration, and Harshness (NVH) deliverables. Your responsibilities include:

  • Planning and execution of the NVH PT deliverables, ensuring adherence to project timelines and quality standards.
  • Prototyping NVH testing methodologies and suggesting innovative measures aimed at reducing NVH annoyances.
  • Conducting thorough measurements of noise and vibration in both vehicle and powertrain systems.
  • Performing advanced analysis of NVH aspects, particularly focusing on Powertrain, brakes, and HVAC components.
  • Providing support to achieve NVH target settings for Powertrain, brakes, HVAC, and overall vehicle systems.
  • Benchmarking new Powertrain and vehicle programs to establish comprehensive NVH targets.
  • Demonstrating vehicle system-level expertise to optimize performance across all components.
  • Collaborating and attending meetings with design teams to facilitate smooth implementation of NVH solutions.
  • Utilising your skill set with the Test Lab and Muller BBm systems for in-depth NVH analysis.

Experience

Your role as a Senior Engineer requires a solid foundation of experience, ideally ranging from 3 to 5 years in the relevant field. Preferred qualifications include:

  • Proficiency in NVH instrumentation and testing.
  • Strong knowledge of NVH test equipment and standards.
  • Familiarity with basics of Digital Signal Processing (DSP) from an NVH perspective.
  • Experience in engine NVH knowledge and test development.
  • Deep understanding of vehicle-level powertrain NVH, brakes, and HVAC systems.
  • Demonstrated skill set in using test lab equipment and Muller BBm systems for comprehensive NVH analysis.

Industry Preferred

We prefer candidates from the automotive industry, particularly those with experience in NVH roles. Candidates having backgrounds from leading automotive manufacturers are highly valued due to their familiarity with industry standards and practices.

Your experience should include exposure to electric vehicle systems and their specific challenges in noise and vibration management, ensuring that you can bring best practices into our team. Understanding market trends and innovations in the automotive sector may also enhance your suitability for this position.

Qualifications

A Graduate or Post Graduate degree in Automotive or Mechanical Engineering is required for this role. Your educational background should equip you with the foundational knowledge necessary to grasp advanced concepts in vehicle dynamics and NVH analysis.

Holding additional certifications or courses related to NVH testing, automotive system dynamics, or noise control engineering will be considered beneficial. Continuous improvement in knowledge through workshops or seminars relevant to automotive engineering trends is also encouraged.
