Senior Lead Engineer - VES

Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

  1. Technical Expertise:

Comprehensive understanding of vehicle software architecture and components.

Proficiency in automotive protocols and communication standards, such as CAN (Controller Area Network), Ethernet, LIN (Local Interconnect Network), and OTA (Over-The-Air) protocols.

Familiarity with vehicle diagnostics and troubleshooting procedures.

Knowledge of software development processes, including version control, release management, and testing methodologies.

Understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices in automotive software.

  1. SOTA/FOTA Implementation:

Experience in designing and implementing SOTA/FOTA solutions for automotive systems.

Knowledge of cloud-based update management platforms and backend systems used for software distribution.

Proficiency in managing update campaigns, ensuring reliable and secure delivery of software updates.

Ability to define and enforce update policies, including version compatibility, rollback strategies, and update validation processes.

Familiarity with update validation mechanisms, such as integrity checks and verification of software signatures.

  1. Automotive Industry Standards and Regulations:

Awareness of relevant industry standards, such as ISO 26262 for functional safety and ISO 21434 for cybersecurity in automotive systems.

Understanding of regional regulations and guidelines related to software updates in vehicles, including privacy and data protection regulations.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering or specialization Automotive Systems or Embedded Systems

General Requirements

  1. Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software developers, system architects, cybersecurity experts, and quality assurance teams.
  2. Effective communication skills to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  3. Experience in working with automotive OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) and suppliers to ensure compliance with their specific requirements.
