Sr Engineer - Calibration

Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

'- Calibration engineer with diesel engine background deployable across various fields of On board diagnostics calibration. 
- Responsible for appropriate testing is planned, executed and reported for all applicable OBD calibration tasks including homologation demosntration and documentation relevant to legislatve requirements of projects. 
- Calibrate OBD error management and generic scan-tool functions to meet requirements. Submit calibration changes and document the changes following the release process.
- Responsible for New software functions verifcation related to DSM / OBD functions. 
- Manage all technical aspects of the OBD diagnostic calibrations to meet BS6/EU6/ EU7 regulations.
- Work with CFT team to understand the calibration maturity of other linked calibration areas and align for OBD calibration and testing.
- Able to coordinate multiple vehicle / project activities simulatneously. 
- Plan and execute the emission and non emission testing for OBD monitors. 
- Analysis of Test results and Report preparation for all the calibrations.
- Facilitates validation of various monitoring funcitons in fleet validation,  concern root-cause analysis and resolution and implementation in the final dataset. 
- Should participate in Summer/Winter/High altitude expedition tests for vehicle level function calibration and verification.

Skills critical for the role
'- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
- Proficient with data acquisition & development tools (e.g. INCA/MATLAB/Uniplot/VISU/ Python / RM tools/ CANalyzer/CANApe etc.)
- In depth knowledge on Engine management system functions, Diesel engine combustion,  emissions and emission regulations.
- LNT/DPF/SCR/OBD system knowledge will be added benefit
- Understanding of various vehicle level features and up to date trends in automobile industry.

Experience

3-5 years

Industry Preferred

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering.

General Requirements

'-Experience in On Board Diagnostics (OBD) development, particularly with  OBD II / IOBDII regulations applicable for BS / EU norms.
- Knowledge of OBD certification documentation.
- Knowledgeable on diagnostics standards such as J1979, J2012DA etc needed for OBD compliance. 
- Conversent with Bosch and Delphi EMS SW functions and hands on experience.
