Responsibilities & Key Deliverables
Key Tasks and Deliverables
- Develop and validate advanced battery pack models (electrochemical and equivalent circuit) integrated with thermal management systems.
- Design and implement real‑time SoC and SoH estimation algorithms for hybrid and EV platforms.
- Build, simulate, and calibrate vehicle dynamics models and integrate them with powertrain components (motor, generator, gearbox, inverter).
- Model, analyse, and optimize powertrain subsystems to support system‑level simulations.
- Develop hybrid and EV supervisory controllers using MATLAB Simulink, Simscape, and Powertrain/Vehicle Dynamics toolboxes.
- Perform validation against experimental data, conduct performance benchmarking, and deliver model optimization recommendations.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration across battery engineering, controls, thermal, validation, and systems teams.
- Prepare technical documentation, modelling guidelines, and provide technical mentoring to junior engineers.
Critical Must-Have Deliverables
- High‑fidelity battery pack models with validated thermal behavior.
- Production‑ready SoC/SoH algorithms meeting accuracy, latency, and robustness targets.
- Complete vehicle dynamics & powertrain simulation models aligned with program requirements.
- Validated hybrid/EV controller logic developed in MATLAB/Simulink.
- Detailed model validation reports and performance correlation data.
Good-to-Have Deliverables
- Model-based Design (MBD) workflows for control development.
- Integration support for HIL testing environments.
- Contributions to model libraries, internal frameworks, or automation scripts for simulation workflows.
- Exposure to automotive safety and compliance standards (ISO 26262, ASPICE).
Experience
3–6 years (PG) or 4–8 years (UG) hands-on experience in EV/Hybrid modelling and simulation.Proven experience with MATLAB Simulink, Simscape, and automotive powertrain modelling.Demonstrated experience in battery modelling, vehicle dynamics, thermal systems, and controller development.

Qualifications
B.Tech/B.E in Electrical, Electronics, Automotive, Mechatronics, or equivalent.M.Tech/M.E preferred in Automotive Engineering, EV Technology, Controls, or related domains.Certifications in MATLAB, control systems, or EV technologies are an added advantage.
