Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

As a Sr Lead Engineer - Transmission at Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd in the Product Development division, you will have a wide range of responsibilities and key deliverables essential to the success of tractor and automotive transmission projects:

• Designing transmission components like gears, shafts, and selecting bearings
• Understanding transmission architecture and layouts
• Performing system level and component calculations using ROMAX and Kisssoft software
• Preparing 2D part/sub-assembly drawings and 3D modeling
• Working on tolerance analysis and stacking issues
• Designing shifting system components and synchronizers
• Understanding manufacturing processes, DFA, and DFMEA
• Resolving failure concerns in both lab and field settings
• Ensuring project timelines are met for drawing release

Experience

To excel in this role, you should have a solid 3-4 years of experience in the field. Your hands-on experience should cover a broad range of tasks including designing components, performing calculations, preparing drawings, and resolving technical issues. Your experience in the tractor and automotive transmission industry will be a significant asset in meeting the demands of the role.

Industry Preferred

The preferred industry background for this position is in tractor and automotive transmission. Candidates with prior experience in these industries will have a smoother transition into the role and be able to contribute effectively from day one.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, you should hold a BE/B.Tech degree. Additionally, proficiency in software such as ROMAX, Kisssoft, and UG is required. A strong understanding of materials, GD&T, and mechanical engineering fundamentals will also be essential for success in this role.
