Sr. Engineer - NVH

Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

1. Good understanding knowledge on automotive NVH, Motorized Noises, Product development, BSR

2. Ability to identify and recognize the BSR noises generated from vehiclesystems when driving on BSR track or experience in BSR shaker component level testing

3.Knowledge on Quasi static test & Solidity test for BSR subjective identification and localization.

4.Ability to do vibration and noise measurement set up, data acquisition, post procesing of data for the following activites a) RLDA b) Relative motion c) NVH measurements

5. Proficiency in designing fixtures for component level (cockpits, Doors & seats) BSR shaker testing.

6. Ability to identify and recognize the BSR noises generated from vehicle interior system at field and report the issues to the respective stake holders.

7. Demonstrate expertise knowledge on identification of noise prone area by acoustic holography techniques and report generation.

8. Demonstrate expertise and hands on understanding on Squeak and Rattle phenomena, thier occurance and root causes.

9. Basic understanding of Automotive systems like Trims, BIW, Glass seal meachanisms a) different types of design b) different Manufacturing & Assembly processes c) Materials used 

10. Understanding on sound quality from all motorized noise, actuators, small fans etc., is an added advantage

Experience

To excel in this position, you should have 6-8 years or more experience as an NVH/BSR Test Engineer. Proficiency in testing software such as LMS Siemens, Head Acoustics, and BSR Suite by MB dynamics is essential. Additionally, you should possess a strong grasp of fixture design, NVH basics, BSR basics, non-stationary signal analysis, and processing techniques. Knowledge of DSP and acoustic holography will be advantageous.

Industry Preferred

While candidates from various industries are welcome to apply, individuals with a background in automotive engineering, noise and vibration control, or product development will be preferred. Experience in working with automotive OEMs or suppliers will also be beneficial for this role.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for this role will hold a Master's degree in Engineering (B.Tech/M.Tech) or an equivalent qualification. Specialized training or certifications in NVH, BSR testing, or related fields will be a plus. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential to succeed in this position.

Being adaptable and reliable is crucial to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and lead discussions with suppliers. The role will also involve participating in project reviews and ensuring timely deliverables to vehicle platforms.
