  1. Policy Strategy & Advocacy
    • Act as a strategic advisor on evolving policies impacting Tech M, MHRIL, MLDL, Agri, and related sectors.
    • Position Mahindra Group as a collaborative partner on critical policy issues across these portfolios.
    • Represent the Group effectively within industry forums and trade chambers to strengthen its voice and influence policy outcomes.
  1. Government & Stakeholder Engagement
    • Build and sustain strong relationships with officials in MoD, MeitY, Corporate Affairs, Finance, Labour, and other ministries.
    • Represent Mahindra Group interests effectively in policy dialogues relevant to these sectors.
  1. Intelligence Collection & Market Insights
    • Conduct comprehensive market intelligence on emerging legislation, policy changes, and competitor activities.
    • Monitor regulatory developments and policy changes impacting Tech M, MHRIL, MLDL, Agri, and associated businesses.
    • Ensure timely access to relevant intelligence—new legislation, policy changes, and regulatory updates—and share insights with Group Public Affairs, business units, and management.
    • Provide actionable feedback and recommendations based on research to influence draft policy guidelines and strategic decisions.

  1. Networking & Industry Representation
    • Engage with trade associations and forums relevant to IT, hospitality, real estate, agriculture, and defense sectors.
  1. Internal Alignment & Communication
    • Facilitate internal engagement and align communication strategies across Business Units to achieve objectives outlined in Business Charters and Competitive Intelligence frameworks.
    • Support internal teams at both Central and State levels to ensure public affairs strategies are integrated with business priorities.
  1. Office Support & Coordination
    • Coordinate meetings, documentation, and reporting for Public Affairs initiatives.
    • Track changes in ministries and government structures, updating leadership and relevant teams promptly.
    • Ensure effective presence and representation in industry voices and forums to suit Group business interests

Functional Skills

  • Ability to identify, establish and sustain relevant connects, contacts and network vis-à-vis Government and related bodies.
  • Strong understanding of legislative and regulatory processes, as well as key policy issues relevant to the organization's focus areas.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain bankable relationships with key ministries including but not limited to PMO, Home, Civil Aviation, Finance, Steel, Commerce and Industries etc. Familiarity with state-level networks will be an added advantage.
  • Possess a strong strategic orientation, exceptional business acumen, and exemplary stakeholder relationship management skills, along with an entrepreneurial mindset that drives results.
  • Exhibit patience and maturity in navigating governmental processes, with a solid understanding of the intricacies of government file movements and the agility to track and advance these files effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to articulate complex policy issues clearly and persuasively in both written and oral formats.

Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in Public Affairs, Government Relations, or Policy Advocacy, preferably in the mobility, or manufacturing sectors.
  • Experience in building relationships with policymakers and understanding public policy landscapes is critical
  • Experience with large, multi-faceted multinational or diversified Indian business groups preferred.
  • Deep understanding of India’s regulatory and policy ecosystem and strong relationships at top echelons / leaders at Central and State governments is essential.

Industry Preferred

  • Public Affairs, Government Relations, or Policy Advocacy, preferably in the mobility, or manufacturing sectors.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree: Preference for degrees in Public Policy, International Relations, Business Administration, Political Science, or related fields from a recognized university. (Master’s Degree – Optional)
