Deputy Manager - PPC

Roles & Responsibilites :

 

  • Develop master production plans (MPP) and detailed shop-floor schedules in line with customer demand, contractual delivery commitments, and capacity availability.
  • Translate sales forecasts, firm orders, and project milestones into executable production plans.
  • Ensure smooth flow of work orders across machining, fabrication, assembly, special processes, and inspection stages.
  • Monitor adherence to production plans and take corrective actions to mitigate delays or bottlenecks.
  • Drive MRP planning for raw materials, bought-out parts, consumables, and special process requirements.
  • Coordinate with Purchase, Stores, and Suppliers to ensure material availability without excess inventory.
  • Control WIP, FG, and RM inventory levels to meet aerospace cost, traceability, and shelf-life requirements.
  • Manage long lead-time and critical aerospace materials proactively.
  • Track customer orders and ensure on-time delivery (OTD) as per aerospace contractual SLAs.
    • Coordinate with Program Management, Sales, and Quality for order priorities, changes, and expediting needs.
    • Prepare and present delivery commitments, recovery plans, and schedule risk assessments.

  • Work closely with Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, SCM, Maintenance, and Special Processes teams
  • Support engineering changes, route card updates, and configuration control from a planning perspective.
  • Facilitate daily/weekly production review meetings and capacity planning discussions.
  • Ensure PPC processes comply with AS9100 and customer-specific aerospace requirements.
  • Maintain planning-related documentation, traceability records, and audit readiness.
  • Support internal, customer, and regulatory audits by providing accurate planning and delivery data.
  • Use ERP systems (SAP / APS) for planning, order tracking, and reporting
  • Ensure accuracy of BOMs, routings, lead times, and planning parameters in the system.
  • Generate MIS reports on production status, OTD, inventory, capacity utilization, and backlog
  • Identify opportunities for lead time reduction, throughput improvement, and inventory optimization.
  • Support Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and Six Sigma initiatives from the PPC function
  • Analyze planning variances and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Guide and mentor PPC executives / planners.
  • Allocate responsibilities, review performance, and ensure skill development of the team.

 

Education : DME / BE Mechanical

Experience : 10 to 12 year of experience

Industry Preference : Aerospace background experience preferred
