1) Product Strategy - To conceptualize strategy for planning new products and upgrading existing products.
- Developing marketing & selling strategies and programs to launch and stabilize products
2) Benchmarking - Responsibility for market and competitor analysis and bench marking by gathering data from the field & perform SWOT analysis
3) Customer & Market Research - Scan environment ,define customer needs, opportunity assessment for products.
- Participate & coordinate QFD surveys, interpret customer voice, work out weightages of customer preferences.
- Interact & interface with Market, Marketing, Sales and Service, Dealers , Launch Marketing team.
- Market research to collate multiple data sources for product development linked planning and product introduction strategy. Market Profiling and developing product matrix based on inputs gathered from the field. Key Features / updating features, USP finalization, variant analysis, pricing, and volume assessment for the current & new products.
- Define Customer Value Proposition, establish it in the market, and work with ownership of the product.
4) Segmentation Targeting Positioning (STP) - Evolving positioning options and product platform definitions / concepts.
- Work out volume, segment , price structure, features, warranty terms
5) Product Definition - Study the feasibility, do the costing and prepare project plans.
- Define & work out scope of Product & its functional Image
- Share the analysis, opportunities and requirements with management and get the approval for new projects.
6) Interdepartmental Co-Ordination - Ensure alignment of functions like Product Development, Marketing, Finance & controlling, Materials and Technical Services for NPI and SOP & to evolve product specifications & features so to build “attractive value proposition” for target segments.
7) Product Management - Manage the product end to end by working on the feedbacks from the market and providing solutions.
- Develop inputs for training field team & marketing communication. 
- Closely work & guide the vertical managers in ensuring that Product variants meet the customer demand.
- Product Management through its life cycle-ECN Monitoring,IMCR proposal evaluation etc.
- Monitoring feedback from initial sold vehicles: Identifying lead person for this activity is critical: service/ pp
-Selecting the customer for initial seeding in project and track the performance with CC team. Incorporate initial feedback in vehicle with the help of Platform team.
- Tracking of cost w.r.t. target
- Price movement tracking w.r.t competition.
- Monitoring competition moves on product and long term high impacting areas.
- New technology tracking
8) Prepare, Manage vehicle demo at various expo, launches etc
9) Manage competition intelligence, markets development, segmental shift, regulatory updates etc
